Ugly Duckling formed in Long Beach, California around 1993 and built a widespread, international reputation for their classic Hip-Hop sound and high-powered live shows. Young Einstein, Dizzy Dustin and Andy Cooper have developed a funky brand of clever and humorous rap music centering around sampled drum breaks, pinpoint rhyme skills and a positive outlook on life that sets them apart from mainstream Hip-Hop culture.
For the last decade, they've circled the globe more times than they can remember performing in over 30 countries while releasing four critically acclaimed albums and an E.P. ("Fresh Mode" (1999), "Journey to Anywhere" (2001), "Taste the Secret" (2004), "Bang for the Buck"(2006) and "Audacity" (2009)).
They've also made their mark on the music scene and earned a few chart positions with notable singles like "A Little Samba", "Turn it Up" and "Smack". As the boys like to say, "We're not incredibly popular anywhere, but we're kind of popular everywhere". They've rocked major festivals like Coachella (U.S.A.), Warp Tour (U.S.A.), Reading (U.K.), Splash Festival (Germany) and Pyramid Rock (Australia) and turned out almost every club in the western world.
Right now, U.D. is hard at work on a new album and eagerly awaiting their next trip to a town near you.
