Will alarms on the clock app play through the speaker, even if the phone is locked

If i have an alarm set in the clock app with the phone on the dock, will the alarm play through the speaker? The vandal is about the same price as a cheap iHome so i was going to get it instead, but i need to know if this will work.

Yes. I use this dock for my alarm too with an alarm clock app and I can lock the screen with no problem.

Why cant I control my iPod nano once I remove it from the amp? I

Answer:

Not a lot at all. The bass is tight and punchy, but only strong on the higher ranges. The vandal are have amazing mids, highs, andgreat soundstaging, but they lack the bass that feels good and shakes things. The beats by dre beatbox has great bass, but is WAAAAAY more expensive.

Yes, it comes with an auxilary cord to plug into a 3.5mm jack. Which is on pretty much all phones.

Answer:

Maybe. Depends on the output you have. you will need an amp to still power the guitar (assuming it's electric), and that amp will probably output a 1/4 plug which you will then need a 3.5mm headphone jack adapter to that 1/4 so you can plug the vandal into the amp. seems like a lot, but it shouldn't be too hard.
