I'm used to more expensive headphones (mostly) so when I bought these on sale for like $15 I didn't expect much, had to kill $70 in warranty credit from SC and these looked like a good size to stick in my backpack. First I noticed the sound clarity, very lifelike (and that's coming from someone who has gone to goodness only knows how many concerts in my lifetime). Next I noticed the bass, more in fact than either of my DJ-style headphones, that was a BIGi surprise for something so small. The only two complaints I had (and the reason for docking a star) was the headphones get uncomfortable (albeit usually after a good two hours, if I turned down the music it might help), secondly, the jack has to be pushed a little hard to get it into the slot, of course if your trying to work out and don't want the thing falling out I suppose this would be a plus but for a laptop user like me its a tiny bit annoying.

The best in earphones I have found

    April 30th, 2012

    by Kim Lucas

Although my first pair stopped working in one ear after a short time, I was given a replacement with no hassle. I have had this pair for a couple of years now and still work well. The earphones themselves are perfect for those with different shaped inner ears!! I cannot wear any other type of ear phones due to this problem so skullcandy's are perfect for me! Can you bring out the under water version please?!!

After trying so many earphones that either fall out or hurt, I'm so glad that I found these! These always stay in my ear and I can't even feel them! Also, the sound is great and is so much better than any I've tried. This was my second pair as my first broke after about eight months, but Skullcandy sent me another pair! Highly recommend these!

After owning these for a few months, I LOVED them but after upgrading to the FMJ's, I sold them to my sister who has so far used them for about 4 months. Her carelessness led to her WASHING AND DRYING the headphones. I tested them not expecting them to still work but they DID! And PERFECTLY!! Abuse in the worst ways and they have held up through all of it. GREAT JOB SKULLCANDY!!

    April 10th, 2012

These headphones have amazing sound quality and because of the shape, fill your ear canal to drown out any unwanted sound without making the volume too loud and getting hearing damage. Only buy them if you have lots of money to spend to buy other ones. Almost all skullcandy headphones are like this. First, the music only comes out when the wire is twisted a certain way, then one stops working, then the other. Don't buy an expensive pair, because they break after a few weeks. Overall great, but be ready to buy more.

    Inked Gold Pros 'n' Cons

    April 3rd, 2012

    by Bryce

These are the Pros... 1:Looks extremely stylish. Looks even better in real life. 2: Feels comfortable. Irritation is not an issue. 3: Bass is amazing. Sound is loud and clear. 4: Wires are not a problem. Tangling does not occur, to an extent. 5: Fits perfectly in almost any ear. These are the Cons... 1: If not taken care of properly, and if somehow smashed into things, the gold finish will chip off, but not to a point were it is noticable. 2: If ears are not clean earwax may build up inside of earbuds. Disgusting I know, but true. 3: If used for extended periods of time on an hourly to a daily basis, the earbud cushions may slightly break down and sometimes fall off. Not that big of an issue though. 4: If earbud cushions become lost, broken, or distored in such a way that they refuse to stay on the earbud anymore, you might as well buy new ones. Without these cushions, the sound begins to sound terrible and it will begin to feel uncomfortable to wear. 5: From what I heard, after a few weeks or months the sound stops in one ear. This has not happened to me yet. I have reason to believe that you have a 25% chance of this "defect" happening to you. I have had these earbuds for 5+ months now and I love these things. Only 2 out of the 5 cons I written down happened. I would recommend this to a friend because they have amazing quality built in them. Kudos to you Skullcandy. You done it again.

These earbuds are actually quite good for 25 bucks. I bought them just for an experiment but used it for much longer than I thought I would. It's a shame they broke so early. Their bass is really balanced and will pump out more if you need it. Overall, the sound quality is really good. They look flashy, but it does feel a little fragile, though.

By Far the best sounding In ear headphones I've ever experienced. My only complaint with them is the tips of the headphones keep getting lost but luckily I have a lot of friends with extras. They are really comfy and block out a lot of the outside noise! Plus with a lifetime warranty, if they ever do break then you get a new pair for free! i have had 3 sets of these headphones and the sound quality wont be beaten by any other manufacturer but they all broke after around 4 weeks of use the problem was the wire inside the protective rubber wrap by the plug had split meaning i could only hear music out of one ear which does get rather annoying anyone would agree. over all skullcandy headphones are easily the best set of headphones iv ever had but havinghad 3 pairs and them all breaking due to the same problem i decided to change to a different manufacturer with out the satisfaction of sound quality or comfort, hoping that Skullcandy will fix this problem by using a more substantial wire or by supporting the wire around the heaphone plug. i believe that many other people have suffered the same problem and id just like to make future customer's aware of this problem.

This was my second pair and it started having the same problem as the first pair; problem with the wire connected to the plug. After a few moths use, one ear piece stops working, and then they both die. Tweaking the position of the wire makes it work for sometime. They need to re-design it (maybe bend 90 degrees so there is no stress on the point of connection)

I've bought two pairs of these headphones in the last year - one of the earbuds in the first pair stopped working, then the other day my second pair had a similar issue but if i fiddled with the wire then i could get the sound out of both earbuds. the sound quality is amazing, which is why i bought another pair after my first set, & i'm tempted to get them again, i just don't want the same problem to happen. a pro about these headphones is that the material the wire is made of means it's less easy to damage, however that being said the plastic covering of my earbud broke (i sellotaped it back together and that was absolutely fine until they broke). overall a wonderful set of headphones, brilliant sound quality - they just need to be a little bit more sturdier and last a little while longer :)

BUT, I had the first pair for about a month, then I lost sound in one ear. SO, I bought a new pair, again about a month ago...and those have broken again (actually they are on the verge of breaking- if it wiggles, the sound goes in and out) so I'm probably going to have to step up and buy more expensive headphones to get more bang for my buck.

I love bass. Car audio is my thing. Ive heard alot of bass, and i know my stuff, and i know what sound is. No im not talking about some Sony xplod speaker stuff, more like PSI, Sundown, American Bass, DC, ect ect. Now they dont sound that loud. lol. But for headphones at the price, you cant beat them! There loud, clear, get deep low bass into the 20hz range. The bass is the best part, and is also what is lacking in alot of headphones these days. The interchangeable in-ear piece is the best feature of these for me- I have very small ears and most earbuds will NOT stay in. With the smallest in-ear pieces, these stay in perfectly. They have great sound quality and deaden ALL outside noise. My old pair finally died today (after much very hard use- I'm hard on electronics) and I bought a new pair immediately. These headphones were the best! They lasted me the longest of all my headphones and it was just so awesome. I used them so often but, eventually they died the day i chose to rollerblade and listen to my ipod at the same time. Lets leave it as i fell and in the process i chewed up the wires and i was very sad. Got new ones now:D!

Awesome Earbuds..

This is my second pair of skull candy earphones and both are definitely legit. These are perfect for outdoors because they are lightweight so they stay in my ear while I am running, mountain biking, or longboarding.. and they sound awesome... It's also good to know if i ever do have any problems they have a lifetime warranty..

Answer:
in my case, these headphones last long if you are aware of the way u handle them. Am a young guy and i love to listen to beats, they have the best sound and everything but ill be honest they don't really last long, that's my opinion. The way i messed up mine is the way i leave my ipod in my pocket. When you place eny music device in your pocket, you must make sure that the jack of the device is upside down, in a way so that you can see the jack facing up. That prevents wire choke. Wire choke is when you place your device facing up, letting the wires to bend against the floor of your pocket making the wires inside the cord very tense. Little by little the wires in the cord will start to snap! Now, in your case that you put your music in your backpack, that's a plus for you because your letting the wires breath more and it has for space to move more freely. If u want to preserve your ear buds, number one, never blast them or else they will mess up even faster. Number two, prevent wire choke and if i was you i would take one of those little wire strips and bundle up the cord with the wire strip and wrap like three loops, not too much or your going to make your ear buds too short. After that, it should make it more durable and wire choke shouldn't be a problem:) These are things u should consider for eny type of head phone or ear bud.

It should work if plugged into the microphone jack, but it won't be able to play sound if you do that. You can use both headphone and microphone on Apple productions.

Answer:
Personally, I'd prefer the Smokin' Buds. I love the way it sounds when I'm listening to a genre like Dubstep, or even some Electro House. If you're planning to use it with your iPhone or Android to listen to music, I recommend buying any of the Mic'd versions of these.

So again, I would perfer the Smokin'd Buds (Mic'd) over the Ink'd. The sound just sounds better to me.

If you're looking for good sound, it doesn't matter. They are both made of the same cheap quality that will only last an average of about a month. So if you get one style and then regret not getting the other, you CAN get the other style once you get another pair out on skullcandy's lifetime warranty. You will love it!

Answer:
in my case, these headphones last long if you are aware of the way u handle them.

It doesn't matter! That's the beauty of its design! Don't get paranoid that there is no L or R to differentiate the side. But you"ll get upset and frustrated when one side stops working. That is the only time it'll be an issue and it is not a matter of if, its a matter of when. Good luck!
