I bought these headphones with the intentions of snowboarding with them. I liked the idea of ear buds not falling out, the tap-tech (or simply just taking them off and letting them hang around your neck, and the tacky band to help them stay on. When I bought them, I instantly thought, "Wow, these feel kind of cheap," but figured they deserved more investigated before making such an assertion. I road park primarily the first day with them. If you're going big, you better put your goggle band over the head phones. Any spins will send these guys flying (really not the biggest deal in the world). Next, I noticed the audio cuts out if you're ripping at any reasonable speed. This I find to be very annoying. I've never owned any headphone that does this. Given that SkullCandy realize a huge percentage of their clients are athletes, this headphone should be able to handle speeds. Next, I noticed the tap-tech button on the side sometimes decides to just not work, which is really annoying and LAME. If cold temps are going to prevent it from working, put the tap-tech on the cord. Would I buy this product again? Probably not. I would look into their more expensive products or elsewhere. If you want spring-phones that aren't terribly expensive and will make you look like a baller, go for it! Hope this helps!

I've always ridden with icons, but the tap ear song control took these to the next level and makes the ride that much better. Now all I need, skullcandy, is volume control tap on the right ear. Icon 4 maybe?

the wimpy look of this headphones really made me thought they are just some ordinary cheap headpnoes, but once i tried it, i regretted its bass is very touching even with its small driver compared to other models, while the vocals can be heard beautifully, not being covered up by the bass its price is very very cheap in exchange for the audio quality it provides, this is also why its body is a bit weak if u have a large and broad head, ur headphones might crack after using it for some time, but still its price is low enough for u too pay for a new one when it does break so over all, it has an excellence audio, even better than those that is 5 times its price how ever, it has cons like its weird look, weak structure and the inability to isolate noise

      Unreal for Snowboarding

      November 23rd, 2013

      by Alexander Steele

The icon 3's are super sick when i bought them i was planning on using them for snowboarding, and they worked perfectly. the use of the ear cup touch control is awesome when your on the slope with your gloves on and all the features work really well. what i think is the best aspect is the durability i can try and break them but just cant and even if you do there is a lifetime warranty!

As a college student, I use my headphones for my day to day adventures through classes. I recently decided to give the on-ear phones a try as a change from ear buds. As far as walking around campus goes, these do a good job of staying on your head, however, I can't put them on with one hand, which can be a pain when you're carrying anything. The big issue with these that I had with the Icon 3 was the fact that they have very little outbound noise-cancelling. I enjoy playing my music loud, and nothing frustrates me more than annoying classmates tapping you on the shoulder just to inform you they can slightly hear your music from your headphones and are "concerned" for your hearing. This can be quite troublesome if you want some privacy in a classroom, a plane ride or in any quiet area. This is a problem I never encountered with the 50/50's or Ink'd, which is why I fell in love with skull candy. On the pro-side however, the sounds quality is quite decent. Nothing phenomenal, but satisfactory by skull-candy standards, especially for the price. And the tap to play/skip/answer calls is a really nice feature when you're on the go. Overall, if you have a vendetta against ear-buds then I would say these are definitely worth the price. But by means of comfort, mobility, and convenience, I'll be sticking with my 50/50's

      Great Skiing Headphones!

      September 6th, 2013

      by Ty

I've worn these for the past season skiing and the icons don't disappoint. Snug fit doesn't fall off even if i bail. Responsive bass and fairly balanced highs. Tap Talk works awesome for my iPhone... but not my Blackberry ( which I primarily use for music) . Well worth the price. Even find myself using them at the gym. Overall a great headphone.

I loved this headphones. They are extremely comfortable. I used them during the summer and didn't feel hot and during winter I just wore them over the hat. The only problem is that they lasted less than 8 month :(, even so they never in my backpack or in any place that could crush them. However, when I complained to customer service, they took care of it. Love Scullcandy!

These headphones are a lot better than expected. They are very comfortable and durable. I snowboard with these on and they have never fallen off. The side button is VERY useful, 1 push to stop/play, 2 to skip, and 3 to replay the last song. 1 push also answers a call. This is off an iPhone. The sound quality blew me away. The bass is not attacking but it is balanced. The whole headphone is by far the best for its size, price, durability, and sound quality.

One tap to pause and play, two taps calls the last person called. No skipping tracks (HTC EVO Droid) better then nothing. The button is stiff. These sound as good as the old hesh model.

Spectacular headphones! Just got them about 2 weeks ago and I've loved them since day one. They are very comfortable and stay on very well. They stay on for pretty much any active sport. The sound is great, too. The bass is really strong and vocals sound crystal clear. Very durable and flexible and won't physically break easily. One issue is that since they are on ear, they don't trap the sound real well. The Taptech works great for being outside with gloves on. However, there is no volume control with the Taptech, which I miss.

      Amazed!!!

      February 3rd, 2013

I got these headphones after having two pairs of Uprock headphones suddenly stop playing music in the left ear. So I tried these out and I was extremley happy with them. The sound quality is good but the bass is extremely good. It is loud but not to loud to drown out the treble. It was definitely worth the money.

Super nice headphones, that seem to be alot more robust and durable than their predecessors. they stay very well, even sitting on the back of my head while wearing a helmet. the taptech is a great addition for skiing, because of the bigger target when wearing mittens. great head phones overall

      Whoah.

      December 17th, 2012

      by Levi

Again, Whoah. These are the best icons of all. I got the green colorway because it was different. These icons still have the interchangable ear cup, but dont come with spares. You can rotate the ear cup to be right slanted or left slanted along with normal. I have not used the taptech, but am guessing it will be great, like all of skdys products. It has a non-slip headband. When i played basketball in them (1-2 hrs) they fell off 2 times, and basketball is quite a move around-get around sport. The pads on them are ultra-comfortable.The green on these is very bright, not neon-ish but bright.

Kinda Doesnt Fit onto the Ear

      December 12th, 2012

      by Jake

It doesnt really fit onto the ear and sometimes hurts it. you have to move it into the exact spot or sound gets quiter and then it will fall out of that spot sometimes. It has great quality, but my Lowriders stayed on my head better and I felt they had better quality. Also, the little cushions that go on the ear fall off all the time.
