These headphones are a lot better than expected. They are very comfortable and durable. I snowboard with these on and they have never fallen off. The side button is VERY useful, 1 push to stop/play, 2 to skip, and 3 to replay the last song. 1 push also answers a call. This is off an iPhone. The sound quality blew me away. The bass is not attacking but it is balanced. The whole headphone is by far the best for its size, price, durability, and sound quality.

One tap to pause and play, two taps calls the last person called. No skipping tracks (HTC EVO Droid) better then nothing. The button is stiff. These sound as good as the old hesh model.

Spectacular headphones! Just got them about 2 weeks ago and I've loved them since day one. They are very comfortable and stay on very well. They stay on for pretty much any active sport. The sound is great, too. The bass is really strong and vocals sound crystal clear. Very durable and flexible and won't physically break easily. One issue is that since they are on ear, they don't trap the sound real well. The Taptech works great for being outside with gloves on. However, there is no volume control with the Taptech, which I miss.

I got these headphones after having two pairs of Uprock headphones suddenly stop playing music in the left ear. So I tried these out and I was extremley happy with them. The sound quality is good but the bass is extremely good. It is loud but not to loud to drown out the treble. It was definitely worth the money.

    Ill headphones for skiing

Super nice headphones, that seem to be alot more robust and durable than their predecessors. they stay very well, even sitting on the back of my head while wearing a helmet. the taptech is a great addition for skiing, because of the bigger target when wearing mittens. great head phones overall

    Whoah.

Again, Whoah. These are the best icons of all. I got the green colorway because it was different. These icons still have the interchangable ear cup, but dont come with spares. You can rotate the ear cup to be right slanted or left slanted along with normal. I have not used the taptech, but am guessing it will be great, like all of skdys products. It has a non-slip headband. When i played basketball in them (1-2 hrs) they fell off 2 times, and basketball is quite a move around-get around sport. The pads on them are ultra-comfortable.The green on these is very bright, not neon-ish but bright.

Kinda Doesnt Fit onto the Ear

    December 12th, 2012

    by Jake

It doesnt really fit onto the ear and sometimes hurts it. you have to move it into the exact spot or sound gets quiter and then it will fall out of that spot sometimes. It has great quality, but my Lowriders stayed on my head better and I felt they had better quality. Also, the little cushions that go on the ear fall off all the time.

They worked very well for me running. The rubber under the headband keeps them on your head very well. And yes, others can hear your music around you if you have the volume up pretty high, because they are on ear headphones.

Answer:
On the mountain, it's common to see people rock the Icon's under the back of their helmet. By turning them backwards, and putting the headband behind their head, they can wear them comfortably under the helmet. This may work with a bike helmet, but I've never tried it.

Your bike helmet would have to be bigger than what would normally fit you and will probably cause you a world of discomfort. My recommendation: If you want music while riding a bike and want to use a helmet, get earbuds.

How are these Icon 3s compared to Lowriders?

I had a pair of Lowriders but they broke. I liked the folding form factor and the pleather pillows. I didn't like that the hinges sometimes pinched my hair. I also wished they had a microphone but like the idea of tapping an ear cup to answer.

Answer:
Icon 3 doesn't have the stashability (foldability) features like Lowrider, but the sound is very good and the Taptech feature is one that you will definitely enjoy. That being said, the best environment for the Icon3 is on the mountain with a beanie and gloves. That's where this product really excels.

Lowrider is a good daily use product, stashability and wearability are great and so it's not fair to directly compare these two products. They excel in different ways for different uses/environments.

Icon3 has slider adjustability the same as Icon and Icon2. Getting a proper fit is critical to comfort, but also to acoustic performance. But, as this product is really focused on the on-snow user, you'll find it really reaches is pinnacle performance when you are rocking a beanie, goggles and cruising your favorite trail at the mtn!

Yes, Its just like any other pair of headphones. The part where you adjust it is right before the separated part merges into one. Look closely at the picture, youll see the line where it adjusts. Also, for more info, search the Icon 2 on youtube because the 2 has the same adjustment as the 3.

Answer:
Taptech is the same functionality as Skullcandy's Mic1. So, the 'mic' which is really a remote control + microphone is fully integrated into the left earcup.

To use Taptech, you simply press the left ear-cup. This allows you to play/pause, answer calls, track fwd and back. The mic is integrated into the ear-cup which is rad and works super well.

It says mic 1 so it seems that tapping whichever earcup that has taptech (or maybe both do) will either answer an incoming call (if these headphones have a mic on them) and will for sure have pause/play, and forward/back track control.
