    AMAZING SOUND QUALITY, IFFY PRICE

    May 15th, 2013

    by :)

The sound quality was amazing, perhaps the best I have ever heard in any pair, but they are pretty bulky, making them difficult to jog with. They were pretty pricy too. I currently have the 50/50 and they seem to be doing the job for a fraction of the cost.

    Decent, but...

    April 23rd, 2013

    by Ted

These are probably the sturdiest earbuds I have come across. I must say, they are very good in that they do look good and they withstand a lot of punishment. In terms of the sound department though, I unfortunately say this time is a bit lacking. I just recently did a sound check, and my first Skullcandy Ink'd (not the Ink'd 2) had better sound quality AND bass than this pair of earbuds. I was expecting a lot more because of the $80 price tag put on, but was sorely disappointed... Also, in terms of comfort, I would say that these are a tad uncomfortable. Yes, you eventually get used to them, but they never reached the amount of comfort that the Ink'd gave me. The sound isolation is not as good too. As an alternative, I would recommend the Ink'd 2, as I did another sound test with them, or the Smokin' Buds or the 50/50.

Great Sound but the design is flawed

    March 3rd, 2013

    by Paul

I have to give these ear buds two thumbs up for sound, the bass is amazing and the balance between the treble and the bass is awesome. There is a design flaw which makes these ear buds so uncomfortable to wear that I have to wait for summer to wear them. I live in Whistler and I probably get on average about 60-70 days on the mountain. As soon as you put a toque on because the ear buds stick so far out of your ears, the pressure the toque creates on the ear buds and then within your ears make them very uncomfortable and then once you put your goggles on you can't keep them in your ears. I do not think the R&D team put a lot of thought into what happens when someone puts something over the ear buds and the pressure that creates within the ear. Save yourself $30.00 and buy a pair of the 50/50's, they are by far the best value Skullcandy has going and the sound from the 50/50's is absolutely amazing as well as very comfortable to wear.

I got this for my little brother a long time ago. I ended up getting a pair even though Im not a huge fan of ear buds. I enjoy these more than I thought I would I have the Fix but these have a similar build with better material and bass. They are great for the price. Would give a 5 in comfort but Im personally not a ear bud fan.

These headphones are super clear and have the bass I was looking for after my FMJs broke. The only thing is, I have to run my music through my pre-amp into these headphones to utilize the massive bass these babies have. My iPod just cannot put out the power.

    Bringing the Bling!

    December 9th, 2012

    by Gil

These headphones sound great but most of all they bring the bling. They are great for running and don't fall out, but as soon as I hit 14 mph on my bike you get a lot of windnoise. For cycling I recommend the Fix or the 50/50. The Fix are my favorite headphone of all time, and these have better sound than the Fix, but not if you are listening to an iPhone or Android phone--you can mainly tell a difference with a personal CD Player or a high bit-rate audio download. ' So I would get these headphones not so much for the sound, but most of all they look way more bling. The carrying tin is pretty sweet too.

    Amazing!

These are incredible! I have a surround sound system with a subwoofer but these headphones can go audibly lower than my sub. The sound quality is great and these are really loud. The only issue is that the big medal cylinder can be uncomfortable in your ear, but that can be adjusted rather easily. I have iBeats as well which are $20 more, these just blow them away.

    Best earbuds out

    September 6th, 2012

    by RAH905

One of the best earbuds out on the market. The bass is deep enough to bump your head, mids are good enough to write your own lyrics, highs are crisp you'd want to listen to music all day and night. On the down side i think these could have better wires like the one on FMJ's. Other than great product. I highly recommend these earbuds

I compared these to all the other earbuds and headphones and these are the best quality because i looked at the tech specs before they removed them off the site and pretty much every thing is 20-20 freuency rate, but these earbuds are 5-22 frequency rate and these are there best product if you want supreme sound and thats the way to tell if there good or not and these are the best earbuds on the market and ive stuck with these.

    Made Mistake of trying these...

    May 30th, 2012

    by Mafioso

This is nothing against skullcandy because i love their products I have owned the 50/50, FMJ, Smokin Buds, Hesh, SkullCrushers, and now Heavy Medal I only listen to Hip-Hop/Rap and BASS is an absolute must I thought I would try these this time since they are supposed to be pretty good... But I am disapointed and will be returning these tomorrow and buying more 50/50s the bass sounds good... just not loud or deep enough... i feel like i need turn turn the volume up but then the treble overpowers the song and really hurts my ears... These earbuds are very clear and sounds great... just not how i like to listen to music... also they are a little bigger and heavier

Phenomenal

Over the years, I've had different ear buds, from different brands. Some from JVC, some Sony. But these blew every other brand outta the park. The $80 is worth it, believe me. The Comply Memory Foam ear tips and metal travel case are the icing on the cake. For you Bass lovers, really consider getting these.

Superb These things are superb! Let me start off by saying that i have had many skull candies in the past. first the inkd, then the titan, and 2 pair of FMJ's. This blows all of those out of the water. The problem with the FMJ was that the bass overpowered the highs and mids, and so the sound quality was not that great. In my opinion the Titans were a much better headphone build than the FMJs. The Heavy Medals are even better than them both. The amount of bass in these things is ridiculous. The 13.5mm drivers REALLY make a difference. With the incredible amount of bass, you would think that it would overpower the highs and mids - this is NOT the case. Skullcandy obviously did their research and found a way to keep crisp highs and mids while maintaining a much higher level of bass than the FMJ's. Awesome headphones. Also, for those worrying about whether or not these will stay in your ear - this design fits and stays in your ear quite well - much better than the titans or fmj's as well. Finally, comfort - As for long time wearing, i wear these things while i work everyday moving around and these never even hurt my ear. If you were like i was - and was wondering why the fmj's are no longer on the online store, then you will NOT be dissappointed with these. They are a far better - more durable - higher quality - more comfortable headphone than the fmj's or titans ever were. The price still may be a bit steep - $80 for a pair of headphones is very high - but i assure you, you will not be disappointed. The only thing bad i can find is that surprisingly, the gel outside of the headphone that says "skullcandy" comes off sometimes. Other than that, i cannot do anything but recommend these to anyone who loves bass in their music. The Heavy Medals will deliver. July 5, 2012
T-t-t-t-tangled. I got these as a replacement for my old FMJs. I loved my FMJs, and my favorite thing about them was that the wires for nylon covered, so they never tangled. These Heavy Medals don't have the nylon, and they tangle Extremely easily (like every other ear buds). Skull Candy doesn't even offer nylon covered wires. Don't get me wrong, I like the sound quality. (nice deep bass), July 5, 2012
Great Sound and Quality! I was a bit skeptical about these at first, mostly because of the price. But ever since I put them in for the first time all of my misgivings went out the window. They have clear highs and plenty of bass when I want it. To sum it up... Worth every penny! July 3, 2012
Best Ear Buds Money Can Buy. Period. These headphones are on another level. From the great sound, i cant even begin to describe it, to the durable design, I usually break headphones in a couple months and have the paint peeling off, but these ones have been working for a whole year and look like they just came right out of the box, these headphones are incredible. i can't recommend this product enough to you. June 27, 2012
These things are killer! Earbuds have been difficult for me to buy because I don't like the sound quality of them. most have low bass and sound muffled. These are the clearest tones and the deepest bass I have ever heard from ear buds. If you love music, you need these. period. June 27, 2012
