    • Hesh 2: Supreme Sound and Price with Skullcandy Hesh 2 Headphones

      July 3, 2012

One of the benefits of being a huge music fan, and writing here at GeekDad, is getting to review a lot of great independent music and the tools used to enjoy that music.  Music is nothing without something to amplify its sound directly to your ear holes. I prefer headphones, as my ears are usually places where other people don’t want to hear what I’m listening to. My latest review set is the Skullcandy Hesh 2 headphones.

    Well done Skullcandy

These are really a step above the last model Hesh I had. The sound is incredible and I am really impressed with the quality of material on these. I am spreading the word on how sick the Hesh is.

AWESOME these headphones are the best pair i have ever owned! listening to them completely cancels out the rest of the world. if you dont buy these you dont know how to live July 29, 2012
Better Than BeatsByDre I've had these for a while now and they are great! Don't go waisting money on BeatsByDre when you can get the Skullcandy Hesh for the same quality and less money! I use these headphones for recording my music and have them on for a while. Usually with headphones, after a while, they get uncomfortable..... but these are ALWAYS COMFORTABLE GOOD JOB SKULLCANDY!!!!! July 28, 2012
Better Than BeatsByDre Well done Skullcandy! Dont waist money on BeatsByDre, these are really good. Beats are good too. But.. These are $60 and are great! BeatsByDre are $300..... I mostly use these in my recording studio..If you want good, comfortable headphones.......... GET HESH 2 July 28, 2012
Crisp, clear music I got these for my birthday and I am definitely not disappointed. Hesh headphones pick up notes that I've previously never heard before with other headphones. They're really comfortable and the material is durable and lightweight. Plus, the Rasta pattern is pretty sweet. July 27, 2012
Definitely a step up from my last pair. Not too long ago I ordered the Hesh G.I Rasta headphones. They were a great pair of headphones, but a little fragile seeing as they ended up breaking only a few months afterwards. I got this new pair in the mail today, and it seems that Skullcandy has made a modest attempt at improving their design and durability. The easily breakable hard plastic got covered up with a soft (yet still considerably firm) casing, and they FEEL a lot stronger than my last pair. I took them out of the package and didn't originally think they'd be very comfortable due to the more circular cup design, but man was I wrong! These fit around my ears perfectly and are soft enough so that they don't cause pain after long periods of wearing or headaches like my last ones did. As far as sound goes, I would definitely say these are top notch for their value. The bass is very nice-- Maybe not 'attacking' but good enough for me. My only complaint is that rock music comes through as a little tinny, but considering these aren't really made for listening to rock it's forgiveable (and something I could get used to.) Absolutely recommend! July 26, 2012
A terrific buy! I bought these today, and they are just amazing. The sound quality, and the bass are spot on! July 25, 2012
Extremely Satisfied Admittedly, I did just buy these today, so I don't know if their quality lasts for a long time, but I'd be awfully surprised if it didn't. The build is sturdy and it doesn't look like they are going to break any time. It's rather comfortable, though I do wish that the ear cups were a different shape. The roundness does cause slight discomfort after a while. Sound: Wow, just wow. I mean, for a 60 dollar pair of headphones, these have an amazing sound quality. Every song I listen to sounds like a different song. You can hear every background instrument, it's exactly how the artist would want you to hear the song. I find them to be an unbelievable value as far as sound quality goes. The bass, I have read some reviews that complain about it being not-so-attacking, but I find it more than satisfactory. Then again, I've never been big on bass, so don't take my word on that. But honestly, songs I've listened to since childhood are completely different. It's just really nice to be able to hear every single sound. I love the pouch and the detachable cord. I have a cat, so it's nice to be able to detach the cord from the headphones and put it out of her reach. Also, if you have a problem with the cord rather than the headphones, you can just buy a new cord, and that's just really convenient. Overall, I like these headphones a lot and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. For their price range, they are top notch. I was not disappointed in any way, shape, or form. July 24, 2012

    Key Features

In what might be seen as a radical uprising, the new Hesh 2 has arrived as an innovative upgrade from its iconic predecessor. The new aesthetic is both sleek and simplified, while the conical over-ear housing drives an even more powerful sound. The Attacking Bass, Natural Vocals, and Precision Highs build a pure audio experience for any genre of music – though we recommend one that’s congruent with rebellion. Use the Mic1 to connect with your cohorts, or to switch up the track. Proving that even the rebellious evolve, the Hesh 2 is Supreme Sound with the usual antics.
