"Without further ado, say hello to the Navigator. Priced at $99, it features a similar aviator-esque style to Jay-Z's model, albeit in a petite on-ear package -- we'd say the design direction this time is even better looking, too. The cans have collapsible earcups with flat earpads and metal construction (just like you'd find on sunglasses), with a faux leather-wrapped headband and a flat tangle-resistant cable (detachable) which houses an iDevice-compatible three-button remote and microphone."

      Poorly Designed and frustrating

      September 3rd, 2014

      by Harry Parkhill

I've had these headphones for less than a week and I have discovered two main problems with them alread. The first is that the volume and playback controls are far too high up the cable. It ends up dangling near my shoulders which is far from best place to have your playback controls. It also has the added problem of catching on my collar when I have a shirt with no collar on (which is particularly annoying for me because I work in smart-casual clothes!). It's not a massive issue but it's still frustrating. The second issue is that although initially comfy, if you're listening to anything for more than maybe 45 minutes to an hour it starts really pushing in on your ears. Perhaps I just have big ears or a big head but it doesn't stop it being uncomfortable for me. I've tried adjusting it but it only makes the gap between the phones bigger, it doesn't reduce the pressure. I know they're skull crushers, but I don't actually want my skull to be crushed! The playback controls are also mightily irritating, I've had the headphones for a few days and they've already become either detached or faulty because they keep automatically playing music on my macbook. I't meant to be "apple friendly" so it works with iPods and Macs, which is great... if it actually worked how you want it to (i.e. when you actually press the button, not if you tilt your head slightly!). perhaps it's because the wire isn't attached to the headphones as standard (you have to plug it in and out) that has made the connection so weird but either way, it's not good when you fork out so much money on a brand which is so reliable. Yes, the sound is really really good (the bass is far better than my previous sony pair) and it's useful that they fold away (my previous headphones were huge!) but it's not very good if your headphones break within a couple of weeks and are a little uncomfortable!

Don't by headphones much, but decided to get these after a long time of looking at many different headphones. Price range was right, tried them on and they were comfy, but you have to find a comfy place for them on your ear, which can take some time. Good sound quality. No complaints.

      Delivers where it counts

      January 2nd, 2014

      by Aaron Whisket

These headphones seemed strange when I first got them, however they turned out to be very comfortable and offer great sound. At first I didn't put the 2.5mm jack in all the way which made me confused why they weren't working properly. Stupid mistake on my part. Once I had them working, I played with the cups till I got a nice position on my ears, which wasn't an uncomfortable process to any degree. I ran them through multiple sound cards and they performed excellent each time. Vocals are clear enough that you can really hear the changes in harmonics as the pitches change, and you don't get any muddy sounds. Also, there isn't any fake color added to the voices. Bass and Treble within instruments are very well defined, without either being harsh. Instruments also don't ever interfer with the voices. For clarity, these headphones handle rough sound very well, and the general sound is smooth enough. However the smoothness isn't near what you would get out of super expensive headphones. My one problem with these is the sound leak. Despite fitting very well on the ears, the construction of the drivers and muffs end up sending sound futher than you except. Meaning you can't record while your listening to these. However, that's not such a big deal because you don't need super isolated headphones to record in the first place. They are stunning when mixing, however. So in all aspects, really stellar headphones for the price, with the only downside being live recording, and smoothness perfect but not bad at all.

The sound quality is great. They are very snug on your head but a bit too snug on the ear. However recently my left earphone stopped producing sound after just light use for 6 months. I haven't tested it enough to say it's blown out but a bit disappointing.

I've had a pair of Navigators for about six months now, and I have been blown away by the quality and depth of sound these headphones give you. Its the best pair of skullcandy's i've owned so far. My only qualm with them is that during extended wear, they tend to make your ears sore. They grip really snugly on your head, so after a couple hours, you have to take a break from wearing them. Despite this, I'm still very satisfied with these.

These leave the Beats in the dust!

      August 20th, 2013

      by Nikkie

When my Beats Solo broke down, even though I was sending them back because they were still under warranty, I started researching what was out there and came across all the glorious reviews for the SkullCandy Navigators. So at this affordable price (Compared to Beats Solo) I went out and bought a pair, even though I knew I would get back a new pair from beats. Well, this is it for me! The sound on these headphones is so amazing, I have been rediscovering my favorites songs, hearing all these little bits and pieces of noise that used to be muffled by too much bass on the Beats. Don't get me wrong, these are still bass-y. You can still rock out to heavy bass songs. But the bass is clearer. For example, I could hear all the different strums of the bass in a rock song, when I used to just hear muffled heavy sounds. I am a total convert. Plus, these are much more comfortable when you have heavily pierced ears. At that price and with this great value, I highly recommend them! And they just look so rad and retro, I love it!

Just picked them up yesterday since my aviators and now hesh 2's have broken and i am very impressed they are very comfortable and have great sound plus they seem very sturdy as well but they manage to have such great sound in such a small package which is what impresses me the most. The fact that they sound even better than the hesh 2's but are half the size is even more awesome can't wait to compare their sound to the aviators soon!

I have owned Skullcrushers, Aviators, Ink'd, Hesh, G.I.'s Agents, and the list goes on... I can hands down say that for the size and price of these headphones, they definitely blew me away. Majestic sound, perfect bass, and last but not least, the comfort they bring along with all this tops it all off like a boss.

      skull candy over beats

      April 24th, 2013

      by Devin alley

I currently have every thing from skull crushers, hesh 1 and 2, unrock, lowrider, and navigator and over all I've used beats before but they don't compair to any of mine especially not to the navigators. Comfort for navigators compaired to the solos is next to none navigators have it with their plush pillow like design. The bass is perfect for everything from my alternative and metal core to simple pop and hip-hop unlike the beats with their over done bass. Also they aren't make from the cheap plastic like the beats are all in all the navigators are some of the most durable headphones I've ever owned. The only head phones I'd ever complain about are the hesh 1 for there poor build quality which hest 2 improved on.

As a drummer I need a pair of headphones that will last, sound great, and will give me the best quality I can afford. I've owned the old G.I.'s, buds, Hesh, Lowriders, Uprocks, and chops. These are the best sounding headphones Skullcandy can offer. Love these things.

      Skullcandy navigators, white

      March 10th, 2013

      by Paddy

I've had these headphones for over a month and i am definitely pleased with them. They sound great, especially on louder songs. they look pretty good and are nice and small for carrying around with you. The only downsides are that despite feeling comfortable at first, after an hour or so, the band across the top of the head starts to hurt a bit. They also don't feel very strong, meaning a case is a must have for anyone who takes them anywhere.

They're great headphones. All my friends were getting beats® but they were way to expensive for me. The navigators were fairly cheap, had great sound, and were an over all great bargain. I can fit them in my jacket pokey, they have a controller on the wire, and have amazing sound quality. They're also quite stylish. The only downside is that they fall of if you move to much, so they aren't great for when I'm skiing. Instead I use skullcandy fix buds. But overall, they're great headphones!

      Skullcandy Does it Again!

      January 15th, 2013

      by Chris M

Let me start by saying I own a pair of Ink'd, FIX, 50/50, Heavy Metals, and Cassettes, and these are by far the best sounding headphones to date. They are nice and small, compact, comfortable, and the sound is out of this world. I cant get enough of the bass, its punchy, but no matter how loud it is, the bass never washes out the highs and mids. The Supreme Sound is definitely evident with these headphones. They bleed sound just a bit at higher volumes, but other than that, no complaints whatsoever. They feel sturdy, look great, and sound even better. Skullcandy has done it again!
