    AMAZING SOUND QUALITY, IFFY PRICE

    May 15th, 2013

    by :)

The sound quality was amazing, perhaps the best I have ever heard in any pair, but they are pretty bulky, making them difficult to jog with. They were pretty pricy too. I currently have the 50/50 and they seem to be doing the job for a fraction of the cost.

    Decent, but...

    April 23rd, 2013

    by Ted

These are probably the sturdiest earbuds I have come across. I must say, they are very good in that they do look good and they withstand a lot of punishment. In terms of the sound department though, I unfortunately say this time is a bit lacking. I just recently did a sound check, and my first Skullcandy Ink'd (not the Ink'd 2) had better sound quality AND bass than this pair of earbuds. I was expecting a lot more because of the $80 price tag put on, but was sorely disappointed... Also, in terms of comfort, I would say that these are a tad uncomfortable. Yes, you eventually get used to them, but they never reached the amount of comfort that the Ink'd gave me. The sound isolation is not as good too. As an alternative, I would recommend the Ink'd 2, as I did another sound test with them, or the Smokin' Buds or the 50/50.

Great Sound but the design is flawed

    March 3rd, 2013

    by Paul

I have to give these ear buds two thumbs up for sound, the bass is amazing and the balance between the treble and the bass is awesome. There is a design flaw which makes these ear buds so uncomfortable to wear that I have to wait for summer to wear them. I live in Whistler and I probably get on average about 60-70 days on the mountain. As soon as you put a toque on because the ear buds stick so far out of your ears, the pressure the toque creates on the ear buds and then within your ears make them very uncomfortable and then once you put your goggles on you can't keep them in your ears. I do not think the R&D team put a lot of thought into what happens when someone puts something over the ear buds and the pressure that creates within the ear. Save yourself $30.00 and buy a pair of the 50/50's, they are by far the best value Skullcandy has going and the sound from the 50/50's is absolutely amazing as well as very comfortable to wear.

I got this for my little brother a long time ago. I ended up getting a pair even though Im not a huge fan of ear buds. I enjoy these more than I thought I would I have the Fix but these have a similar build with better material and bass. They are great for the price. Would give a 5 in comfort but Im personally not a ear bud fan.

    Bringing the Bling!

    December 9th, 2012

    by Gil

These headphones sound great but most of all they bring the bling. They are great for running and don't fall out, but as soon as I hit 14 mph on my bike you get a lot of windnoise. For cycling I recommend the Fix or the 50/50. The Fix are my favorite headphone of all time, and these have better sound than the Fix, but not if you are listening to an iPhone or Android phone--you can mainly tell a difference with a personal CD Player or a high bit-rate audio download. ' So I would get these headphones not so much for the sound, but most of all they look way more bling. The carrying tin is pretty sweet too.

These are incredible! I have a surround sound system with a subwoofer but these headphones can go audibly lower than my sub. The sound quality is great and these are really loud. The only issue is that the big medal cylinder can be uncomfortable in your ear, but that can be adjusted rather easily. I have iBeats as well which are $20 more, these just blow them away.

    Best earbuds out

    September 6th, 2012

    by RAH905

One of the best earbuds out on the market. The bass is deep enough to bump your head, mids are good enough to write your own lyrics, highs are crisp you'd want to listen to music all day and night. On the down side i think these could have better wires like the one on FMJ's. Other than great product. I highly recommend these earbuds

I compared these to all the other earbuds and headphones and these are the best quality because i looked at the tech specs before they removed them off the site and pretty much every thing is 20-20 freuency rate, but these earbuds are 5-22 frequency rate and these are there best product if you want supreme sound and thats the way to tell if there good or not and these are the best earbuds on the market and ive stuck with these.

    Made Mistake of trying these...

    May 30th, 2012

    by Mafioso

This is nothing against skullcandy because i love their products I have owned the 50/50, FMJ, Smokin Buds, Hesh, SkullCrushers, and now Heavy Medal I only listen to Hip-Hop/Rap and BASS is an absolute must I thought I would try these this time since they are supposed to be pretty good... But I am disapointed and will be returning these tomorrow and buying more 50/50s the bass sounds good... just not loud or deep enough... i feel like i need turn turn the volume up but then the treble overpowers the song and really hurts my ears... These earbuds are very clear and sounds great... just not how i like to listen to music... also they are a little bigger and heavier

Phenomenal

Over the years, I've had different ear buds, from different brands. Some from JVC, some Sony. But these blew every other brand outta the park. The $80 is worth it, believe me. The Comply Memory Foam ear tips and metal travel case are the icing on the cake. For you Bass lovers, really consider getting these.

If you really want to listen to rap get the Aviators. I have yet to purchase a pair of my own but my best lady friend has the white ones and I am jealous. They are awesome and really good looking. Just my advice; a little more expensive than the Heavy Medals but so worth it. Check out customer reviews comparing them to Dr. Dre's Beats phones. . . You will be sold. They are more than quality sound but also an awesome fashion accessory.

Answer:
I haven't listened through the FMJs but I was willing to splurge the extra ten bucks based on the fact that the Heavy Medals have a 13.5 mm speaker, compared to 11mm, and that the frequency range is much wider. These are the best quality sounding earbuds I have ever heard. Also, this is the only set of earbuds I have owned that allows me to fully control my iPhone from my pocket. I have volume, track up/down, play/pause, a mic and phone answer options on a tiny console on my collar. Definitely worth it. Plus, the chrome ones look like you have some bling in your head... I notice people checking them out. . .

Answer:
I have never had FMJs but the range in frequency on heavy medals is better. I can actually notice the difference when I list to rock so I would say yes. As far as wear-ability, the heavy medals go in to the ear canal and the bud keeps it in place. I rarely have to fiddle with mines to keep them in that "good spot"

No. Your product comes with a lifetime warranty and I have found Skullcandy SO easy to work with on this, especially since now you can replace your broken product through their website. Just describe the issue you have, print a simple form, drop them into a padded envelope and slap on five stamps. You'll have a credit posted to your account toward a replacement in a reasonable amount of time.

I have experienced both only having the headphones work with an Android phone (no mic even) as well as limited use of the button controls (answer calls, pause, unpause) with a working mic. I have yet to see an Android phone that utilizes all of the available features of the set. Although, to be fair, its not like I have gone on a mission! The phone that allowed the mic to work was an Verizon serviced Android phone, but I dont know which model. Sorry.

Nope! The FMJ button works with Android, with my media player anyway, it has bottom settings in it, that button is current than the Heavy Medal, that is designed for Apple only, any bottom like that won't function, and not even the Mic, SOMETIMES, every phone is different, the Mic is a risk and the buttons are a no go

I have an HTC Thunderbolt, and the Mic doesn't really work at all...but, there's alot to it, some skullcandy mics are different, there's the version made only for Apple, it's the long button, with a triple action movement, that's for Apple, i had those that didn't work at all, but the other ones, FMJ for example, work good across the board, and the button works, which is great, i use power amp, has the button actions in the settings, the best mp3 player available,

Plain and simple, it's all risky, trial and error, the technology is just not refined yet

Answer:
If you really want to listen to rap get the Aviators. I have yet to purchase a pair of my own but my best lady friend has the white ones and I am jealous. They are awesome and really good looking. Just my advice; a little more expensive than the Heavy Medals but so worth it. Check out customer reviews comparing them to Dr. Dre's Beats phones. . . You will be sold. They are more than quality sound but also an awesome fashion accessory.

Answer:
Essentially, Heavy Medals are new FMJs with a few changed features. I'd take the Heavy Medals over FMJs any day.

Answer:
As an Android user, the FMJs are offer a functioning mic and single button control for basic Play/Pause or Pickup/Hangup Call. The Heavy Metals were a comfortable fit, but unfortunately none of the controls worked on my Razr and the mic never functioned.

I've had fmj's and loved them and I wonder what the main difference is in both sound and wearability?

Answer:

Answer:
Nope, you do not need to register the headphones. When they break, simply log in to your account go to Warranty Information, and then click on "submit a warrant claim", fill out the forms and follow the instructions after filling out all their forms.
Hope this helps,

Answer:
I have experienced both only having the headphones work with an Android phone (no mic even) as well as limited use of the button controls (answer calls, pause, unpause) with a working mic. I have yet to see an Android phone that utilizes all of the available features of the set. Although, to be fair, its not like I have gone on a mission! The phone that allowed the mic to work was an Verizon serviced Android phone, but I dont know which model. Sorry.

Answer:

Answer:
It doesn't really isolate noise with the silicone caps, but the comply foam tips block out noise; aside from your heart beat to the sound of the bass.

Answer:
I have an HTC Thunderbolt, and the Mic doesn't really work at all...but, there's alot to it, some skullcandy mics are different, there's the version made only for Apple, it's the long button, with a triple action movement, that's for Apple, i had those that didn't work at all, but the other ones, FMJ for example, work good across the board, and the button works, which is great, i use power amp, has the button actions in the settings, the best mp3 player available,

Plain and simple, it's all risky, trial and error, the technology is just not refined yet
