    Survived the washer and dryer.

    by Nathan Mooney

I never write reviews as most people don't bother to read past the first 10 but these things survived the washing machine and the dryer so i gotta give 'em mad props! Well built, mic still works, sound quality still excellent after a trip though the wash, and the dryer.

WORTH IT...BUT NOT FOR BASS OVERLOAD

    June 10th, 2014

    by MrSpartanIV

I had a pair of these for about a month or 2 and they sounded EXTREMELY GREAT! It was definitely worth while. I am a constant "basshead" so I always played songs with a lot of bass.(I USED WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER AND POWER AMP SO I INCREASED THE BASS EVERYTIME USING THE EQUALIZER FUNCTION) Unfortunately my 50/50s could not handle this as everyday I overworked it with a lot of bass which I regretted. After a while the right side of my headset then decreased significantly in volume unlike the left side. (I think the speaker blew) After a while I stopped with the constant overworking of all that heavy bass but alas the left side of my headset decreased in volume also. Today I still own this headset but the right side gave in completely so I now own a one sided functional headset. The point I am trying to make is do not overload this headset with bass constantly. In other words this was DEFINITELY WORTH A HEADSET and I recommend everyone to purchase one as the mids and bass are just right!. I am now considering to purchase a Skullcandy Ink'd 2.0 which seems pretty neat at the moment.

    One minor flaw

    April 28th, 2014

    by Joshua

50/50 are excellent headphones. The sound is good and the bass is booming and they are very comfortable to wear. However, I've had several pairs and even when I took good care of them, the left headphone always managed to stopped producing sound. Skullcandy has been good about sending me replacements, but just be cautious of it.

Best/Only Earphones I will ever use! Even after 3 years!

    April 18th, 2014

    by Kayla

I absolutely love my 50/50 Earbuds! I have had them for 3 years with no problem. I wear them almost daily for workouts and skype and the only problem I have had was about a month ago when the metal piece broke off the ear bud, I super glued it back on and it works like new! The sound is the same as when I first got them and they are very comfortable. They stay in through my workouts and running with no problem, the only downside is that they are not made for android, but the volume and the mic work great for Skype and phone calls! They have lasted this long even after dropping them on hard concrete, stepping on them and hitting them on things multiple times through the last three years. I will continue to use them until they are completely worn into the ground!

    good earbuds, but some problems

    March 31st, 2014

    by Dan Holmes

bought these and instantly I found that the volume control didn't work. Also, for people who work out or run, they will fall out of your ears easily. I sent claims to skull candy to fix this and possibly send me bigger buds so they have a tighter fit. Overall however, the sound quality is amazing and the noise cancellation is pure awesomeness.

    50/50 Review

    March 28th, 2014

    by Jason

These headphones are great for the first month or two but the left earbud always stops working at complete random. Im about to go onto my 5th pair. The only reason I keep getting new ones is because of their warranty policy. Do not buy these if you only want working headphones for a month. This is absolutely ridiculous and I cannot believe they haven't figured out this defect by now.

    March 16th, 2014

    by Marcelino Carrizales

These headphones have are absolutely amazing. Well worth the 50 bucks, but take note that the wire connecting to the jack is delicate. And being an active person didn't help. They stopped working in the middle of a workout, and made the big mistake and not send in the headphones for warranty.

    Recommended and never regretted it!

    March 14th, 2014

    by Cee

I went through dozens and dozens of headphones before my best friend recommended me to Skullcandy. Usually she is into the trendy stuff and was not convinced that they were as good as she said they were-she ended up switching to Beats a few weeks later and they kept breaking on her. Turns out, she really should have stuck to Skullcandy! My 50/50 earbuds lasted me two years before they suddenly broke. Before these earbuds I constantly broke pairs but even after running them over with a car, slamming them in a door, and dropping them in a pool they survived with no damage except for a small scratch. The sound was good quality but sometimes quieter than I had remembered. The remote got stuck a few times but always worked and after I convinced my sisters that the earbuds were worth it, Skullcandy always honored their warrantee when needed replacing. Skullcandy headphones were a fantastic investment that I have yet to regret! They also were surprisingly comfortable.

I have bought two of these pairs of headphones. Each pair only lasting about 3-4 months . The left ear bud always blows out. Not sure why it just happens. I mainly use the ear buds to workout at the gym. Overall, great product just wish they were more internally durable.

Good Sound Quality, But Not As Good Manufacturing Quality

    March 8th, 2014

    by Jared

I love music, and having headphones with good sound quality is important. I have had two pairs of 50/50's and they are comfortable and sound good, except for a constant buzzing that i noticed. However the reason i had two pairs is because the right ear bud stopped working and I sent them back and they gave me a new pair. Then recently the new pair broke at the jack and had to send them back again. I'll admit that I'm not the kindest person towards headphones, but I took care of them as best I could without worshiping them and they still broke. I would recommend buying the Hesh 2's. My friend has a pair and for ten dollars more they last longer and have even better sound quality.

    Best earbuds I've ever had.

    March 2nd, 2014

    by Michael Hartsell

These are amazing, the only gripe I have is the microphone. It's designed for apple products, so the volume only works for those, but the track skip and mic work for android as well. Also, I cannot use these with a headphone splitter, or my computer, it messes with the signal, and the only way to make it work, is to hold down the mic button, very annoying. It's true, I've owned two pairs of these previously, but they lasted an acceptable time compared to other brands I've had. One lasted just over a year, the other over 6 months. Annoying having to send them in for another pair, but the bright side is you get a new pair each time. In this case I got the new 2013 design, which is superior in my opinion. The metal rim around the bud part, has been replaced with rubber, making it more comfortable, and it is no longer an earwax scraper (nasty). The only downside is that they took away the black/chrome design that I had previously, so I opted for the black and white, and to be honest, I don't mind it now. I had the same issue as others have stated, after some time, the left earbud went out. The first time it was a short in the cord near the jack, totally understandable, it's a fragile area. But the second time around, the left bud just randomly stopped working. It is worth the hassle of sending them back in, in my opinion, for the sound quality they have. I haven't bothered to buy a pair of beats by dre, because they are the most expensive, cheaply made pair of headphones you can own. I'll stick with Skullcandy.

    Great overall but...

    February 15th, 2014

    by Austin Merseburgh

They are good headphones for everyday users. They are good for constant users like myself. They are great with sound quality and the bass is phenomenal. The only issue I have is the quality of the product. Generally speaking they are good. However, the housing is made up of a plastic shell surrounding the components. This makes them lightweight and, though it may be a comfort thing, this makes them feel cheap. The flat cord is awesome. Rubber, not plastic, and not stiff. The other bad thing I have to say is that I have owned 3 pairs of these and each had the same problem: The left side would go out after about a month of heavy use with a very conservative volume

    January 18th, 2014

    by Austin

I have been with Skullcandy since the beginning with the original Ink'd headphones. Since then, I have owned almost every in-ear bud since and the 50/50 are just about perfect. I also own Monster and Beats headphones, and I still think Skullcandy is superior in value, sound profile and longevity. Plus, the warranty is incredible. The 50/50 buds are almost perfect - the one suggestion I have is a lightweight metal housing instead of plastic (maybe a pricier model/option) - that way they are as sturdy as the Titan's but with the extra comfort. Overall, I give them a 4.9/5 stars :)

I write this just after I put my rasta pair in an envelope to mail in for a warranty claim. These lasted nearly two years, and I have absolutely no complaints. OK I love the sound and fit but they always break! This is so stupid. I take great care of my headphones. I've had bose headphones for years now only one pair and still fine. The bose are more expensive and have similar sound but they last. I know there is a warranty and I use it a lot. However, paying shipping isn't ideal and I'm sure skullcandy doesn't like giving free headphones out. FIX THE PROBLEM! The cord is too long and snags everything... potential reason for fast breaking??

New flat TPE cable does not fix problem

    September 30th, 2013

    by SolidONE

I've owned several pairs of skullcandy buds including 4 sets of fix in ear and this would be my 3rd set of 50/50s. They have all worked great before each of them failed the same exact way. The right ear bud will stop working after 2-4mos of usage. This new 50/50 has the flat TPE cable, which I assumed was a fix for this problem. Unfortunately the same problem still exists. If you don't mind sending in your buds and paying the postage every 2-4 months, these buds are great. This is the singular issue with these buds, but its a major one. Hopefully they figure out a real fix, or at least a solution that lasts longer than 2-4 months.

Nice bass with no distortion! Love the mic and durability. I stepped on one of the ear buds on accident and it popped the case open but I was able to put a dab of superglue to hold it together. I was surprised that it didn't crush like a cheapo pair of ear buds. Still sounds good too!

Excellent earbuds, i got the shoe whites with the soft carrying pouch and I use them all the time with my iPod Nano 6G and the Mic3 feature is a must if you have an Apple device. Deep powerful bass provided by its 11mm drive, only flaw is that they don't fit good on my right ear and it's like the sound is lower there, after a while they become uncomfortable and any harsh movement pop them right off your ears.

Consistently stop working in one earbud!!

    August 13th, 2013

I've had 4 pair, all stop working between 2 and 4 months with very very minimal use. Same pattern every time...1st the Mic will start giving an echo during calls, then after a few days the earbud will just stop working. Its a faulty product line. There is no other way to explain it. Can't get money back though so Im forced to keep shopping around Skullcandy for replacement earphones.

These earbuds offer a great range in sound. The bass is heavy and everything is very crisp. The different sized buds allow for perfect fitting as well. The only gripe I have with these is the durability. I am going on my third pair in a year. I do use these when I work out and during a normal day, so maybe using them when working out has something to do with, who knows. Regardless I have never had a problem with getting a replacement pair at no cost and will continue to do so through the lifetime warranty. Overall I would highly recommend these to someone.

Out of the box, these earbuds delivered deep, pumping bass, but also left the treble intact. Sometimes, earbuds with deep bass muddy the mids and treble. These do not what-so-ever. Incredible sound quality for a great price. Highly recommend.
