      Great headphone choice

      May 2nd, 2012

      by Alex K.

As far as sound quality goes, I found these are particularly great for those who love rock and metal. The overall sound of each instrument in a band comes out beautifully in these. The overall design is good for it's price and they are one of the better looking models too. If you want more bass and electronic, I'd go skullcrushers or SK Pro

Depending on your device, these results MAY vary; I used my laptop (Gateway Netbook) and my Sony PSP, along with my Cell Phone (Samsung Mythic). From what I heard in my cell phone, bass was great, far surpassing any other headphones I've used. They went LOUD. Loud like the horns in a football stadium. And I like my music extremely loud, so that was a pro for me. However, SkullCandy Titan were definitely enough, and these headphones are meant for high performance drivers; the quality of Titan was higher than that of GI due to driver inefficiencies. Go with Titan if you're going to use a cell phone like the Mythic. From my laptop, they went EXTREMELY loud, due to a far better driver. The bass ripped my ears while the guitar and vocals eviscerated my brain waves like C4 going off in my head. I like my music loud, but maybe not that loud. Far better quality, again, because of the driver. A GREAT choice for at home listening when you're doing homework on a desk. Now for my Sony PSP. To me, it's somewhat arguable whether the Apple iPod or Sony PSP is better, but price made me go with a PSP with a 32Gb memory card. I assume the iPod has a much better driver, mostly due to the look my bro gave me when he tried out my GI's. And the iPod is, without much contest at all (if any), better for audio content playback. The bass worked very well, solid and clear. Cymbals and foot pedal beats made my GI's vibrate, a nice touch to the rich sound. The vocals were great, overlapping and intertwining with the guitar and drums, with bass outlining the whole thing, resulting in Beethoven's untamed symphony on wheels. If your in the car, these headphones suit you well when you're going to that long trip to see the colleges you're applying to. Now, if you have an iPod, imagine a circus of drum patterns blowing an elephant sized guitar rift at you with the porcelain beauty that only God himself could create. These are truly amazing headphones, and $70 is very modest for what you're getting.

      GI VS SKULLCRUSHERS

      April 29th, 2012

ok i have had now 2 skullcrushers and a rasta gi ..skullcrusher one's wire at splitter came apart but ow well second pair the lurkers com with a nice custom bag and new color scheme on the whole headphones very high bass with the mids and low's 3-5 beat users at my school ended up bying these from demoing mine however i also have rasta GI's and they have pretty good bass but skullcrushers are way better for rap, techno, dubstep ect.,,,, but now for the GI's they have good sound not veryloud like crushers but have good highs and mids but hardly the bass chrushers have however the bass is still very good for rap, rock, dance music

these headphones are great. a couple people said that they were better than Beats by dre, Soul by ludacris, and even 50 cent's Streets. and i truly believe this. but after a while of them being worn on your head, they begin to hurt your head.like a stinging sensation.amazing though

i brought these today and first listened to them when i got home. i tried a few songs to test the range... the bass was lightweight, the mids and highs didnt quite cut it.... i have been listening for 3 hrs and all has changed. there is no crackling noise in the background, the highs and mids started to sing and the bass became punchier... if you buy these headphones dont listen to them when you first but them and give them back... listen to them for at least 4 hrs and you will ghange your mind

i had a pair of agents which have AMAZING bass so when i got these i thought they could only be better. i was wrong while the sound quality is good there is almost no bass. also these headphones seem to reduce the volume. i almost always have to have the volume all the way up just to have a good level. kind of disappointed. but heck once they break, thanks to skullcandy's amazing warranty policy, ill be able to get agents again

I bought my 2010 Skullcandy GI Habitat Rastas in October of 2011, I have not had anything problems with them. For Thanksgiving, I went to Vermont, walking through DIA with them made me a little nervous, because I was afraid I would break them. I smashed them on a subway window twice, had my 15 pound backpack fall on them, and even sat on them. Yet, they worked perfectly. These have great bass, great treble, and are great for aspiring DJ´s. I have mixed a few songs with them and I have no complaints. Buy them!

      Gear up for G.I.

      January 7th, 2012

I had these for my first pair of headphones from Skullcandy and I was really happy with them before I got the Aviators. These are a very well priced headphone for what you get. The construction is nice with the headband and everything like the adjusting ladders and the convenient bottle opener (don't drink but some of my dad's friends do). I had my friend borrow these for a party where he had to DJ and he said these were very good for the price. The sound quality is pretty good. Nice bass and the rest of the music I listen to. Very well priced headphone overall. No problems really. I loved these while they lasted till my dog ate them. Literally. he chewed the wire. Oh well. Very Happy!

Fantastic Pair of Headphones These headphones are a great buy and will never let you down. The sound is amazing, the DJ articulation is pretty sweet and its Skullcandy, what more could you ask for? They are very comfortable and the sound is great. If you want something comparable but at a lower price, the Skullcandy Hesh are a great buy as well. March 11, 2012
GREAT HEADPHONES Everything about these headphones is great. The only disadvantage is that they are breakable, but that does not matter because of skull candies warranty policy. I had a pair and then they broke, but within a couple of weeks skull candy had all ready given me $70 of online credit. Overall great quality headphones. March 8, 2012
Only if you can find them cheap Granted, I'm not a headphones connoisseur, but the G.I. headphones aren't as awesome as all the reviews, and the price, made them sound. Maybe $70 isn't a lot for some people, but for me it would've been a significant investment. Fortunately, I got them on sale and most of the price was covered with a gift card. Otherwise, I'd feel they were quite a waste of $70. Here's why: -The Rasta version of the G.I.s doesn't have the in-line mic (I didn't realize this before buying, maybe I'm the only one). -The ear pads are fine, but I've used them for two weeks and they still feel very tight and become uncomfortable after just a few minutes. Apparently others feel they are like clouds, and just float on your head in absolute comfort. I don't know... -I was expecting much better quality sound than the Apple earbuds I've been using—nope. The lower ranges are okay, but there isn't much in the higher range. I've compared the two, and frankly, I can't tell much of a difference at all. These certainly don't offer sharper audio. -So, they can get loud, but essentially that's all I feel I get out of these. -And they don't block too much sound. -And they leak pretty good, so you're not very discreet around the house or town. I'd say if you love deafening audio and don't need it to be high quality (full range and sharp) and don't mind discomfort and don't care if people can hear your music and you remember that the Rastas don't have the in-line mic and controls AND you can find them on a good sale, then these may be for you. May be. March 7, 2012
Decent sound quality but fragile The value isn't great, but the sound quality is. As long as you're not listening to a bass-heavy song, they sound great. The comfort is great, it feels as if the headphones are floating. Though one thing I dislike about it is that mine broke too quickly, in only about three months. The sound quality wasn't affected - the thing that broke was the size adjuster, so I can't really wear these headphones anymore. What's worse is that since I'm not in the US, I don't get the lifetime warranty. March 6, 2012
Amazing I like the feel of the massive bass. i like dubstep so these are good for that!! I havent bought these but got a free pair of DJ headphones! Sadly the DJ headphones broke, but i just cable tied them up :D They were just pitch black and i cant buy them any more :( And the headphones hurt your ears after a while. March 5, 2012
awesome i wish they would do g.i denim again March 3, 2012
Comfortable No Bass Extremely comfortable they dont even feel like they are on your head. but the bass on the other hand is very low quality you cant even feel it thump but they are very stylish and durable they have lasted me for over a year i love these. February 28, 2012
