    Dead after 8 months

    July 16th, 2014

    by Brian

I purchased these because of the volume control and the wrap around ear piece. The wrap around was the best part. The sound was good. On the slopes the volume controller would stop working after 4 hours in the cold weather which was very annoying. After 5 months of running with them, the right side broke and the speaker separated from the case. I used Gorilla Glue to solve that issue, which worked. They have a tendency to slip out of the ear on long runs and perspiration builds up. After 8 months, the left speaker completely died. I had my Sony ear buds for over 6 years and worked perfectly. The only reason I replaced them was when I lost the rubber part surrounding the speaker. I wouldn't recommend these.

A bit pricey for what you get, and it will take quite a bit of fiddling and adjustment to get the size right, but they sound great and don't fall out.

BOTTOM LINE YES, I recommend this product

Out of the box, wore them twice to run. First time, lost volume control, second time lost sound in one ear bud. Very disappointed. This is my second Skullcandy product and will be my last.

    Great for a while

These headphones sounded great and worked very well, until I started using them to workout. shortly after I started working out with them, the buttons on the microphone (volume control and pause/skip) stopped working properly. People also started to complain that they could not hear me when I was talking on the phone using these headphones and microphone. While I loved the comfort and sound quality from them they didn't last long so I couldn't recommend them unless that changed. the version without the mic would be perfect for the gym. I would recommend that!

    Awesome; but NOT REALLY RED

I think this is my...sixth? pair of skullcandies...I don't know. Anyway, I bought these to replace my Asyms, and they definitely didn't disappoint, sound/quality-wise. If I were to compare them to other skdy buds I've used, I'd say the sound is similar to the 50-50s. I haven't used them running yet, but I have done a shake-the-head test, if you will, and they passed. =P They're also plenty comfortable. They're not quite as tug-proof as the Asyms, as the cord goes directly to the bud instead of behind the ear, but they still stay in beautifully even while moving around. A quick word of warning though; I'm no fashion pro, and don't intend to be, so I don't really care too much, but if you actually want a pair of RED headphones, look elsewhere. Turns out these really are more of a neon/pastel orange. Which, of course, is still awesome, but not what I was expecting.

BOTTOM LINE YES, I recommend this product
