I had a pair of FMJs but the right side quit working. True to lifetime guarantee, they gave me a $70 credit. I bought the hesh scout rastas and I'm glad I did. Bass is deep, highs are crystal clear and mid range is perfect. I use them on my PC when I watch movies and the outside noise does not get through. These sound better than headphones costing twice the price! BUY THESE! You will love them. People ask me where I got them without even listening because they look so cool and the military style carry bag is awesome. It has a D ring for attaching to a backpack. LOVE'em!

Answer:
Everything has Radiation. the mere fact that you let the sun touch your skin means that you where just exposed to radiation. HOWEVER SkullCandy headphones are well within background radiation levels, and they contain no radioactive materials... because no one makes stuff out of radioactive materials... that would be stupid

If you are talking about the over the ears then you might break them if you have the certain pairs that dont bend and become compact. The ones that do bend probably wont break but may have paint damage. The in ears...They will almost never break when dropping them...I throw my pair across the room sometimes and dont have a problem. Plastic will break easier if you put weight on them...Metal cases are the best way to go. FMJ's Titans etc

Answer:
Typically, Hesh headphones come with a Mic1, meaning they only have Play/Pause, Next/Previous Track & Answer/End Call features (when connected with a phone [Mic1 features still work great with Androids, while Mic3 does not]). If they have the +/- buttons on it, there's a chance that might be a Mic3. The Volume control only works with any newer generations of iPods and should work with all iPhone generations. I recommend you try pressing the +/- buttons when you get the chance to connect with any of the newer iPods or any iPhone. Won't know for sure unless you try it.

Answer:
Their are a few differences that your son might find favorable with both of these headphones.

1.) the skull crushers have a battery powered Subwoofer. This Subwoofer VASTLY improves the Bass in the headphones. HOWEVER they don't look as cool as the HESH. The SkullCrushers are definitely the more quality buy though. Just tell your son not to be to rough with these things, they have internal components that have been known to break off if they fall on the ground or something like that, and if that happens you hear a rattling sound in the things (that happened to a pair I had and it sounded awful). SkullCrushers are also more comfortable than the HESH headphones. If big ears run in the family, don't buy the HESH (I have one and my ears hurt from time to time because of the shape of the HESH earcups.)

2.) the HESH headphones look cooler, I have a pair of the blue/black ones and they look nice, HOWEVER they have serious problems. they are a bit fragile, if you extend them they can break VERY EASILY if they hit the ground. The Cord on them isn't very long, which is fine if he is just using them for his iPod, but not if he has a computer with a tower instead of a lab top. Again, not too comfortable for long ears.

Well I was just listening to music, and all of a sudden the adjustable part on the headphone snapped! I have had them for about 1 year and I don't know why it would just break! What I mean by adjustable part is how high or low you want your headphones on your head.

I bought a pr of Hesh headphones 5 yrs ago and loved them because of the inline volume control. My cat ate thru the cord and now they're useless. I can not find another pair like these. I've gone to Best Buy and they remember selling them to me but they don't carry that particular headphone. I mow my mothers property and it takes about 6 hrs and having headphones that block the mower out is a plus and I don't want to pay more than $50 for them. What do you recommend?

It depends on what you prefer. The Hesh offer good sound quality without running on a battery, while the Skullcrushers offer even better sound quality, but they eat through batteries really quick from what I've heard.

Either Headphone is a good choice though. ;)

Answer:
Contrary to another answer, they are most definitely not "noise cancelling". With a tight fit and large cushions on the ear, very little external noise can get inside the earphone cups. But noise cancelling is different. This is technology that produces an exact opposite sound frequency from the outside noise. Sort of an acoustic version of -55 on one side, and +55 on the other. When the two collide, they equal zero. The opposite sound in essence cancels the sound from outside the earphone. Noise cancelling earphones have microphones in the headphones somewhere to analyze noise from outside and produce the polar opposite noise to cancel it out.

So, no, these do not do any noise cancelling, but the sound is quite good, nonetheless. As I mentioned, the tight, over-the-ear fit, 50mm drivers, and descent sound fidelity for a mid-range set of headphones significantly limits any outside noise pollution from disrupting your audio.
