I bought a pair the week they first came out, and I'm not gonna lie, they worked for a solid month then stopped working. But then I got a second pair, and they're just now starting to have problems. A year and a half later!!! These headphones are amazing and they're comfortable and I'm usually really hard on headphones. But like, they're almost too good, on account of that I haven't needed to buy another skullcandy product since then. So, Yeah, Highly recommended. Soooo worth it.

However, they star to be annoying within 2 hour of listening to music. They supply an extremely high BASS sound, while cutting an high frequencies. -> doesn't suitable for Jazz or Classic music <- but hey...after all they made for sport (active people) don't waste your time reading this and just buy them.

Never wanna use another pair of earphones

    January 28th, 2013

    by Enzo

I'm an avid music listener and sound quality is important to me. I considered buying the Beats in earphones until i stumbled across these one day and decided to give them a shot. i was blown away at the sound quality. after several months of using them i tried out a buddys pair of beats in ear headphones and they sounded identical to these. Bottom line im glad i picked these up and after 9 months of using and abusing them they broke and Skull Candy handled the warranty nicely and hooked me up. I recommended these to my brother and he picked up a pair and is in love with them.

I just brought these pair of FIX just because my old ones were keep falling out and hurt my ears. When i brought these pair of skullcandy Fix, I was just simply amazed!!! the bass is just perfect. The bass wasn't over exaggerated and boomy, like you know the leading brand(beats by Dr. Dre). and the treble was simply AMAZING , the bass and the treble mix together just perfectly. it was worth every cent i paid. the only complaint was that the earphones where hurting my ears just like any in ear earbuds, but for a few days it stopped hurting!!!

So at first I was kind of on the edge about getting these because they are kind of pricey... but after lots of consideration and looking at other earbuds I decided on these. And when I got them I was amazed! These have such good soudquality. Good bass, High's Mid's and Low's, but I'd say the thing that got me the most is the comfort! I've worn them for hours and it felt like nothing was there and there were no ear aches! Good job Skullcandy, excellent ear buds!

Most comfortable buds I have ever owned

    December 4th, 2012

    by Scott

I've been a fan of earbuds for over a decade now, and in that time I have tried many different types, cheap, expensive, big brands and no-name brands. I have never had comfort like what I've had from these babies. They don't even feel like they're in my ears, they NEVER fall out, which was always the problem I had with earbuds, and the quality of the sound is amazing. The only problem I have right now is that I feel like I need to stock up, because if you guys ever stop making them, I won't know what to do when I need some new ones. The only downside (which I'm not really that upset about) is that the connector broke after about a year of use... granted they get used every day and take a pounding, I think they lasted well.

    No Fall Out!

    October 25th, 2012

    by Justin

I bought the Fix in Ear because of the fact that I had issues with the Smokin' Buds line and the 50/50 Line regarding fitment in my ears. For some reason the ear buds kept on popping out of my ear. I opt'ed for this line and I have to say, I couldn't be happier. No earbud is perfect, but this comes very close. During regular wearing you will not have to worry about your earbuds falling out. I have had an infrequent issue with them falling out during running, but like I said, very infrequently. Thank you Skullcandy!!

If you are not satisfied with the fix, READ THIS

    October 2nd, 2012

    by Peter

When i received these a few months ago, i was not happy with their fit at all. Ink'd earbuds stayed in better. After writing a negative review, I hardly used them at all. Then one day, i realized my mistake. It is IMPERATIVE that you put the earbud in it's corresponding ear (via the small lettering below the bud). I had them switched around the whole time, providing a terrible fit. The correct way to wear them may seem unnatural, but it stays in your ear like no other earbud i've tried. By reading some negative reviews, i know others have made the same mistake. Please make sure you don't make the same stupid mistake i did. These earbuds are all around winners!

They sound just like the Fmj's, which is amazing. They do stay in your ears very very well. They hurt your ears after 30 minutes or so, on the medium tips. The small gel tips go in a lot better and wont ever hurt for however long you wear them, but they do not seal nearly as good as the medium (losses quite a bit of bass)

    SkullCandy 5EVER

    August 29th, 2012

    by Jake M.

I have owned SkullCandy headphones for quite a while now. They stay in my ears really well (I have to use the small buds, the medium and large ones don't fit) which I love and the sound quality is amazing. More than that is the Lifetime Warranty which is how I just got these. I live fairly local to SkullCandy's main office and they have a warranty/retail exchange store there so after filling out the online paperwork and a short drive I traded in my busted FMJs for these Fixes. At first I was concerned because they feel significantly cheaper (plastic vs metal) but then I tested them out and not only do they sound better, but looking over them they have a much better design as well (no more nylon wrap on the cord, the 3.5mm jack connector has a more secure/solid cable entry point (which is what was damaged on my FMJs after 3 years of use) and the grills inside the earbuds look a lot more secure than the old ones as well. The remote control is just a bonus. My only real complaint is that it feels like the remote should be down about 1-2 inches on the cord... it's hard to reach for it while running without looking, but I'm sure I'll get used to that so no worth taking off a star. Overall, I couldn't be happier with SkullCandy's customer service and the new Fix In-Ear buds I have.

    Be careful before buying

    July 30th, 2012

    by Peter

I run frequently and love music, so when i saw these and their positive reviews, I bought a pair. I was hopeful that i had found a pair of earphones that wouldn't fall out but still had great sound. Going by the reviews, price, and description, I was expecting just that. Long story short, they didn't exactly meet up to expectations. Don't get me wrong, the sound was great, but after comparing them to my ink'd 2's, i found the ink'd pair actually stayed in much better. (Yes i tried both sizes of buds) Judging by the price difference of $50, you'd think this wouldn't be the case. While running, i had to push them back into my ears about once every minute because they would slowly edge their way out. They just didn't feel secure. I understand that everyone's ears are different and that mine might be abnormal somehow, but for $70 I can't help but be a little disappointed.

I am a professional Firefighter and the things have seen all sorts of heat and water and have not failed yet. I bought these for my wife for mother's day and she loves them. I have the FMJs (have had them for 2 years now) and did a comparison of the two sets side-by-side. The quality in sound is outstanding with head rattling bass and very clear highs. My wife commented that she could hear the bow on the cello strings. I, personally tested the earbuds on the same tracks I have used to test the subwoofers in my car. My ears loved every second of the test. I highly recommend the FIX earbuds for quality of sound and price value. I am a Skullcandy customer for life.

If you are having trouble deciding between in-ear headphones, look no further. I have owned almost all pairs of Skullcandy's in-ear headphones, and dang. These deliver! The bass is impeccable. It is deep and strong without sacrificing sound quality. The sound quality itself beats most all of their other headphones. I do enjoy having volume control. That is satisfying. The coolest part is the actual design of the headphones. They look awesome AND are functional. I actually spent the first five minutes of of the box tugging on the headphones while they were in my ears to see if they'd fall out. They won't fall out unless you really want them to. End of story. YOU'VE SOLVED THE PROBLEM OF BOARDERS ALL OVER THE WORLD!!! No more fishing out fallen out buds! If you are a snowboarder, I recommend these. Unlike competitive headsets for active people, this headset works as advertised. I've tried competitive products ranging from Monster iSports to Yurbuds Ironman series, and I prefer the Skullcandy Fix to those options by a lot. The Fix actually stays in my ears without needing adjustment. The Yurbuds and iSports slip constantly, even though I tried every shape & size they offered. So, with the competitors' headsets, there was constant slipping and necessary re-adjustment, which is annoying when you're running, and the music is never quite at the volume level you desire, because as the earbuds slip, the music fades. The Fix fits perfectly in my ears and requires no maintenance while in the middle of a workout. The sound quality is great. These are the earbuds for me.

For $70 i would like to have the nylon braided cable for easier untangling and strength and possibly a metal housing for better sound like the fmj's. Also the mic3 thing can kind of be hard to use. Changing the volume is easy but when it comes to clicking twice to go forward or 3 times for a previous song can some times be mixed up with the volume instead and will accidentally pause the song and adjust the volume instead. But other than that they are by far the most comfortable in ear headphones i have ever had. They stay in no matter what you are doing and still sound decent.

Not really. Some headphones are just not as loud. But, you can make your volume limit on your ipod louder. Maybe that will help. If it doesn't, then there really isn't anything to do.

well i am no expert, and i suggest if you want to talk to an expert click the "chat about this product" icon above the selected product to talk to a real expert. but i do know that the FIX in ear buds stay in very well, i just went skating with them and they did not budge a bit and they are comfortable. I'm not sure of the exact driver size and frequency range, but i do know that the fix's overall sound has been labeled and rated higher than any other bud from skull candy. before these i had a pair of everyone they made, the best was the titans with an 11mm driver and decent frequency range. they key to skull candy is the equal and balanced sound that allows a unique and enjoyable listening experience. if i were you, get the fix's, the sound and durability is overall better than any other headphone skull candy provides. plus heavy medal sounds good, but does not stay in your ears very well if your active.

How do these compare to 50/50's?

I am a big advocate of the 50/50's. I keep a second pair just in case my primary breaks (and they do, I'm on my third set. kudos to skullcandy for the awesome warranty.)
Anyway, I would like to know how these stack up to the 50/50's. I noticed these have a smaller driver but they are a newer model so one would expect these to be an improvement over the older design of the 50/50's.
So when it comes to lightweight, quality, in ear buds... it comes down to these and 50/50's. Does anybody have experience with both models? Should I view these as an upgrade to the 50/50's or not?

Answer:
Personally, I like my Fix'd. The 50/50 right earbud doesn't fit well in my ear. But with the Fix'd they both fit really well. In my opinion, the Fix'd sound clearer, bu don't have as much bass as the 50/50. And the Fix'd aren't as loud, and the 50/50 has a better wire. Overall, i would go with the Fix'd. They are my go-to pair.

I have found that the reason most of my headphones break, is due to the the antenna-like protrusion of the straight plug into my ipod. When the ipod turns sideways in my pocket, or I sit down, the plug is bent. This leads to a disconnection in one or both of the earbuds, leaving me with busted phones after only 1 or 2 months of use.

Answer:
I think that the in-ears are better. The regular fix are like the Apple ear buds, and they have a reputation of hurting people's ears. Also, the Fix'd in ears will block out noise better, and the com with a handy carrying case. With a carrying cse, it will protect your headphones better. I found that throwing around my headphones into my backpack randomly will cause a shortening in the wire, and they will break. So, definitely go with the in ears.

Yes. I love the 50/50 and was going to have a backup but decided to give these a try. the noise cancellation was much better and they went more into your ear and virtually cant be shaken off

I work in a hot tire factory and wear mine for 12 hrs at a time. I sweat a lot in the summer and have not had issues with them. I think they would work good with a helmet or beanie. The design keeps them firmly in your ear and you can't even tell you have them in. VERY comfortable.
