The good: The stylish Roc Nation Aviator headphones reach beyond Skullcandy's tween demographic and bring a sophisticated look and detailed sound design to the mobile market.

The bottom line: The style-savvy Skullcandy Roc Nation Aviator headphones earn our recommendation for balancing a unique thematic design with exceptional clarity in spite of a slightly passive low-end response.

Skullcandy continues to pursue its youthful listening-device niche with the Aviators, a collaborative effort with Roc Nation, a music publishing and entertainment company founded by hip-hop mogul Jay-Z.

Skullcandy is known for making headphones that put fashion first and sound quality second.

You’ve probably seen its krazy-kool neon and graffiti-splattered cans stacked up for sale in mall kiosks, or clamped to the dome of some young’n on a skateboard as he whisks by and spills your latte all over your Haggar slacks.

The company’s demo skews young, and we all know the kids don’t necessarily care if their music sounds good, as long as it’s loud.

I've had these headphones for almost 6 months now and they haven't let me down at all, unlike some people say they defiantly leak, maybe cause i blast them haha. Plus can't go wrong with a lifetime warranty.

    Details you should know.

These are great headphones and offer precision sounds. Lets start with externals. These have a very strong construction of what I believe is aluminum and only plastic (polymer) lenses. The headband is cushioned and the inside has suede to comfortably seat them on your head. the top of the headband is leather, and although the headband seems thin, its is very dense and durable. The plugs seem strong, the bag is a tight fit at first, but actually perfect when you get used to it. The leather pillows are very nice with nicely moisturized leather and memory foam padding. They're entertaining to squish! They are very adjustable and as for the construction, the only complaints I can dig up are that my ears are huge and hurt after an hour and a half of listening and for adjusting them, they slip too easily and sometimes they catch better and make you push a tad harder to adjust a notch but then slip and go too far. a solution would be to add a way for them lto be locked in place. SOUND. These have a beautiful sound. It really emphasizes the most on string instruments, pianos, drums, vocals, and other spacious sounds. These do lack a little in bass, and that's because these are like the equalizer set to treble booster or another that has similar effects. The solution is to use bass booster. you will have perfectly punchy bass to listen to dubstep, rap, or whatever, and still have beautiful sound on acoustic, piano, and rock. They are in fact better than beats for rap because the singers vocals are much more clear. These headphones aren't noise cancelling, but do block out enough noise when at the proper volume and in my loud school hallways, only people screaming loudly near me get through, but don't taint the awesome music. You really get a good feel of the song and everything is perfectly defined. Hardly any distortion occurs and that is when you have the music at volumes you shouldn't, the well defined sounds become too much for your ears and become too bright so the definition isn't at its 100%. These are amazing headphones, but before you get them, try them out if you can to see if they are for you, because bass lovers may turn away, but they are perfect for any genre of music.

BOTTOM LINE YES, I recommend this product

Honestly Impressed

The design, the quality and the structure are all great. Not every headphone out is able to balance the bass and the treble as well as these do. They're very comfortable, and don't fall off so easily. The bass is incredibly clean; it isn't adjusted to have that scratchy sound you might hear from other headphones. The white leather travel case it comes with is a pretty big plus, not to mention that the cord is removable, and can be replaced if messed up. Highly recommend these.
