Great sound, but the volume increases to full on it's own

I absolutely love the sound on this iPod dock. It's amazing for the size and portability. I have the same issue as others where the dock will increase volume to full on it's own. I work in an office and my coworkers can hear it when it happens. I use an iPod Nano 6th generation. Other than the volume issue, I love the product (is there a fix coming or is it just a hardware issue?).

I've loved this speaker dock up until I began to encounter one big problem. The speaker began to turn itself up or down all the way and would not allow me to change the volume without turning it off and back on. This is such a big issue for me because I am usually busy every time I use the speaker. It may have had a faulty touch panel in the volume up and down switches but this problem became very irritating. I am sending them back.

I was quite surprised with the Pipe. The sound quality is incredible for having only 40mm drivers, and the loudest it can get is LOUD. I was also surprised when i found out the outer shell is metal (which made me quite happy). THe only con to this is that the ipod connector does not allow you to have a case on either an iphone or ipod when connected, and the aux cord is a bit thick around the ends which makes it hard to find a case that allows it to fit in the device. Other than that, highly recommended! great price, great quality!

I got one of these for a gift for Christmas in 2011. Loved it. Compact, good sound, just what I wanted for my kitchen. 6 months later, one speaker stopped working. I was pretty upset. A few months later, the other started to go out. Now I was really upset. Contacted Skullcandy to find out about the amazing warranty they offer. Didn't expect that! Sent it back in, had a credit issued the day after they received it (which I missed due to a junk mail filter, I'm assuming). Customer service rep sent me a new credit voucher, I ordered 3 more, gave one away as a gift, and now have 2 in my house. I hope my first one was just a fluke, because it's really an awesome product. Now if I'm writing another review in 6 months, I will be less happy, but with the use I get out of it, the quality for that time, the warranty, I'm pretty satisfied.

First off, I dont view skullcany as one of the elite headphone makers like sennheiser, AKG or Grado, so when I saw they had a dock for sale, I questioned it even more. But I saw that this dock was on sale, so I bought it. The dock was 45 dollars off, so I tempered my expectations a little bit. That being said, I am very surprised at what came out of these speakers. The sound quality is pretty good for a thing this size. The highs are clear, and the mids (in my opinion) were the focus of this project. The only thing that I have a problem with is that there is very little bass. This is bad news for a basshead, so rap and dance fans will not be completely satisfied with this product. People who listen to acoustic and jazz music on the other hand, will be happy with their purchase. I like that this dock is portable and small. I use it when I'm in my room, or when I'm playing video games in the basement. It's not a musical powerhouse, but I'm happy I have something small to use around the house.

Many people know I love my pipe. But I'm seeing many review similar to what just happened to me. When unplugging the AC adapter from the wall, a prong was left in the outlet. Looking closely, the broken part was cheap plastic inside the unit. Hope this can be amended.

I love my Pipe - great sound, easy to carry around the house to wherever I want my music. I've had it for only a few months. I unplugged the AC adapter recently and one of the prongs broke of and was stuck in the outlet. Looking closely, you can tell that the AC adapter was cheaply constructed. Too bad I have to spend time finding a new one. Otherwise great product.

Once you set your iPod on this dock, and turn on the music, you immediately surround yourself in great quality sound. The music is clear, and crisp, and everyone around you gets a chance to experience Skullcandy music for themselves. It's really stylish. Take your pic on which one suits your iPod the best.

I bought this a couple months ago and at first i thought it was small so it wouldnt give a loud or deep bass sound. When i recieved it in the mail right away i opened it and plugged it in and connected my ipod and listened to a song. The sound is amazing, you can 100% hear everything in the bass and for an incredible price!! Congrats SKDY for making a sick speaker dock that can do as much as a $600 or $700 dock. So if your thinking on buying this go ahead because this is super sick for an incredible price and you save so much $!!!.

Cuts out and no bass

I was really dissatisfied with this purchase. Whenever I turn it up, it fades away and turns off after about 2 minutes. It's not because of the batteries are low because I have it plugged in the wall. There is no bass to any songs, and it isn't that loud. I am really disappointed with SkullCandy

This is not the first docking station I have attempted to buy, and now that it's out in the open, I can tell you that this is definitely my favorite. Although not the loudest sound it has clean sound, other docks have had better bass, but this one is more compact and way more affordable. Plus, all those others ended their lives in the circular file, when I realized that they were worthless after breaking and having NO warranty. Thank you Skull Candy for your amazing business ethics and products.

This is a miracle device! Great sound quality and great bass! I went to Lake Powell, Utah with this baby and it survived the 100+ degree wheather. I got it on target.com a few weeks ago and i got it shipped free and there was a remote, carrying case, AA batteries, and an AC Adaptor. Great value for a great product!!

The Skullcandy pipe is small and portable so I can bring it with me everywhere. I got it about 2 weeks ago and I love it. It fits my Ipod touch, my dads Ipod classic, and my brothers Ipod nano.

I've been through 2 of these docks so far, and I am now sending back my 2nd one. They sound pretty decent if plugged into the wall, but when used with batteries the speakers cut out like crazy.

This little thing puts out major sound for how so small it is. And good sound i might add. I personally was impressed. Plus you can hook other devices up with it with the cord they give you ! And it has a REMOTE! What !!! Oh yeah did i mention you can plug it in or rock 4 AA battery's. Bow baby ! Which i was also surprised how It (pipe) didn't eat up the battery's. i also know a few people with them and they love em too. Only down side no case for it and accessories. I personally can live with it. I bought a few when they were $99. New price is way worth it. GO Skullcandy Keep the Quality Coming!!!

After listening to a co workers It was a must have. now we are seeing them everywhere, simply cause they rock. Plus they have a great warranty so its a win win. the only similar speaker set ive seen that is more powerful was bigger and cost alot more. the only con is overheating if left out poolside in the sun.

all tha bad things is that it can easily get disconnected, has unsteady charge off just the batteries, and the remotes for it only have like 5 feet of range good things are that i can play music from youtube off it, it gets really loud wile staying very clear, and i can get it in my pocket so i can take it places pretty easy, and it actually charges your iphone or ipod or whatever else can fit on it... one more thing, i broke my plug that goes into the wall and wanted to know how i could get another?

The size is very convenient, and the look is very fancy. It also has great volume, but a few things kinda bug me.. When the battery runs out, the speakers go fuzzy and the bass sounds terrible and it gets very quiet. Also, the iPod touch doesn't stay on the dock very well. Hit it, and it will unplug or something and then you have to readjust and wait until the sound comes out of the speakers again. But otherwise, the product has good sound and good quality

I bought this a few years ago for my business - I teach at different preschools every day. I am used to replacing my "music players" fairly often, as I am rough with my equipment. However, this dock has by far been the best I've used, and lasted about 3 years- it's extremely lightweight, compact, and the sound quality is amazing, considering its size. I'm on this site to order another one - the death of my latest dock was caused by its biggest weakness - the flimsy plug. The prongs first started pointing in different directions, and were a challenge to spread so they'd fit into the outlet. Eventually, one prong got jammed inside the plug casing, and I couldn't get it out.

This iPod/iPhone Dock speakers are awesome. They sound great, and give a good quality sound. It has a Detachable pluggin cable, and a battery slot, it uses a lot of battery but, still its a great thing to take with you anywhere. Also, it charges your ipod/iphone which is great, but only with the pluggin wall cable attached.
