Kansas City, Missouri
At 23 years old Sean Malto is no longer considered an up-and-comer. Sean has established himself as one of the strongest skaters on the scene today. Homegrown from Kansas City, Sean has been consistently mixing tech and flawless style since he was 13. The crew at Girl Skateboards noticed his talent at young age and brought him onto one of the gnarliest teams in skating. After Transworld Skateboarding awarded him Rookie of the Year in 09’ and the Reader’s Choice Title in 10’ Sean found himself battling through a season of injuries but still managed to be crowned the 2011 Street League Champion. Sean is a freak of nature on a skate deck.

Scariest close call
Last summer I was in small town in Spain while filming for Pretty Sweet. Someone started to mess with the camera gear and a little altercation started to happen. Next thing I know there was about 15 people coming out of there houses with mini bats and we basically had to run to our cars and take off as fast as we could. Pretty scary.
I would never _________

Worst injury and how it happened?
Knocked my teeth out skating into a pool when I was 15. It started to rain a little bit and I was coming close to a trick I've never done before so I tried it one more time and my feet just slipped out from under me and I went straight to my face. It was a month after I got my braces off so that was pretty cool too.
Best part of your “job”?
The freedom to create. Skateboarding being so independent, its nice to create your own style and chose what tricks you want to do and how you want to make them look.
It varies all the time but right now its Loudon Wainwright the 3rd
