BIO: Mikey Rencz’s snowboarding career didn’t have your average start.  First competing in halfpipe events Rencz traded perfectly shaped walls for natural backcountry terrain.  Mikey quickly became known as a backcountry mastermind landing covers of multiple publications in Transworld and Snowboard Magazine.  One of the biggest names in Canadian snowboarding, it’s no surprise he earned real estate on two magazine covers in one year.  Mikey’s not always lost in the open Whistler backcountry; he is a co-founder of the movie production company, 8-Mile with friends Jonny Lyall and Eero Niemela.
