The first time the Skullcandy fam was introduced to Action Bronson, he walked into our Sundance party, dropped a beat, stole someone’s sandwich and dissed our catering. The Queens-born gourmet chef turned hip-hop phenom brought his beats to our home sporting his standard shorts along with his “I don’t give a ****”. And we welcomed him with open arms. The newest addition to Skullcandy’s team of artists, Bronson brings new life to the hip-hop scene with his laidback sound and ability to engage the crowd. One thing is very clear - Action is not your average rapper… and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Action Bronson is a dude with confidence to burn representing the off-grid, New York underground hip-hope scene that lives within the five boroughs. Not only is he smart aaannnndddd funny, but also ridiculously creative. On Rare Chandeliers, Action’s first official project since signing with Vice/Warner Brothers, his presence is uniquely reflected in his quick-witted lyrics and original beats.
In addition to his online videos featuring his skills in the kitchen, Action's making his claim to fame through his live performances, often launching himself into the audience despite the un-avoidable circle pit that ensues. Just two years after his debut studio album Dr. Lector, Action has made his rounds through the hip hop crowd and can be heard on Meyhem Lauren’s Mandatory Brunch Meetings tape as well as A$AP Rocky’s LongLiveA$AP with Kendrick Lamar, Joey Bada$$ and other known names on the scene. We can’t wait to see what Action does in 2013. If his lyrics are any indicator, he’s got big things planned. “I’m working hard because that's what I need to maintain Killer Queens is on the rise. So understand me. Ain't never stoppin' 'til there's a Grammy in a room for my family.”
It’s no surprise that his music is grabbing the industry’s attention. From rapping in porta-potties, grilling fatty gourmet burgers is his basement apartment, to blazing up like its going out of style, Action knows who he is and will make it clear to everyone else who that is.
“In only one year, considered as a veteran.” —Action Bronson, “The Symbol”
