In what had to be the biggest gathering of skiing talent in one spot this year, the Sammy Carlson Invitational was THE place to be last weekend. The sun was out, and DJ Stray was on point – bringing great tunes all day and making people bob their heads to the beat. The Mt. Bachelor, Ore. course had a huge booter that ran out to a 30 by 30 wall ride. Sammy, himself, was standing at the bottom of the wall passing out over $10K throughout the day to the competitors whose tricks and style he liked.

War of Rails went off under the beautiful California sky at Big Bear this weekend, with Skullcandy team rider Tom Wallisch dominating yet again. Wallisch destroyed the War of Rails set up. He consistently aced his runs through the course, which took riders from an up-rail to a giant wall ride, gapping the down flat to a down-rail, then finally charging in to another up-rail. Simply put, Mr. Wallisch was like a Jedi knight using the force, and he owned time and space.
We sat down for an exclusive interview with Tom Wallisch to talk about his dominating 2011/12 season, but we found a lot more to talk about than just skiing.
