The Seattle based dance-rock band, The West first dropped on our radar in February with their self-released LP, In Low Light.  The dance-pop album is definitely one for the summer and so is their latest music video.  Shot on location in Seattle and Bellingham by All Mod Cons and Hand Crank Films, the video just released this morning and definitely tells the story of the universe bringing peeps together. Producer/DJ duo, Filip Nikolic and Jeffery Paradise just recently landed on our radar and their mellow tempo’s are right on point for summer anthems. Gaining national attention back in 2011 after the release of “Do You Believe?” via YouTube underground DJ’s began sampling their work and spreading the vibe. Since then, they’ve released two “daytime disco” type records packed with sub aquatic beats and dreamy vocals. We’re jamming over tracks like, “Harvest Moon”, “Do You Believe?” and “Take Me There”.

Loaded with lyrics that go back and forth between his loathing of the downside of fame to the up’s of being ridiculously rich. In all honesty, the album is good but not his best. Magna Carta…Holy Grail doesn’t carry the same innovation…
