The city of Seattle saw its annual influx of gamers, groms, and costumes descend onto the heart of Pike St. for the kick off of PAX Prime 2013 yesterday. With this year’s show adding an additional day for attendee’s to demo upcoming releases, talk shop with industry experts, and challenge each other in nearly any game of their liking, the show still sold out within the first day of sales.
On the floor we’ve posted up next to our friends at Astrogaming in the center of the publishers and developers showcasing their latest stuff. We’re giving PAX goers a taste of our latest gaming headsets with a setup courtesy of our homies over at Playseat and Need for Speed. Gamers waited hours for chance at the new Assassins Creed IV with the general consensus of it being Ubisoft’s “best game yet” while others lined up for rounds of Cards Against Humanity who shielded the line for the offensive but indulgent game. They even allowing PAX attendees to jot down new ideas for the CAH cards.
Amidst the games, consoles, and frivolous accessories we found ourselves most distracted by the enthusiasm of the crowd Day 1. Those who attend PAX are serious about their game of choice and take months preparing themselves with questions for panels, strategies for comp’s, and of course a wardrobe to fit the occasion. Check out some of our favorite PAX costumes from yesterday below and if you’re around swing by the Skullcandy Gaming booth to try out the PLYR 1 and a chance to win a set up by our friends over at Gaems.
