Skullcandy Presents: Week In Music 8.2.13

Freshies: Washed Out “It All Feels Right”

Two weeks until the release of Washed Out’s sophomore album, Paracosm drops and if their newest single, “It All Feels Right” is any indication of what else is to come then we are jonesed. Rumored to have used more than 50 instruments on this upcoming record, Ernest Greene is back with even more powerful ambient vibes than before. We can’t wait to escape into the full album when it drops on 8/13. For now, enjoy a sneak peak of what’s to come.

Watch Out For: Shout Out Louds

Swedish indie pop group, Shout Out Louds came together back in 2001 catching the attention of Filip Wilen, owner of Sweden’s Bud Fox Recordings who loved the their ultra-melodic sound and signed the band immediately after getting a taste. After four records and years of touring, the groups sound has gone through waves of icy synths, melancholy melodies, and has reverted back to their earlier sound of more relaxed recordings. The band released their latest self-produced album, Optica earlier this year and we are all over the eclectic mix of highs and lows for our summer drives. Check out “Very Loud”, “Glasgow”, and “Chasing the Sinking Sun” for first listens.

Currently Obsessed With: Vetiver

Music by the atmospheric folk-pop quartet, Vetiver makes for the perfect evening wind-down. A combination of electronic influence with youthful ballads and twangy, danceable beats the group nails it across various soundboards. We love, “Can’t you Tell”, “Fog Emotion”, and “Worse For Wear”.
