Band Of The Week: Portugal. The Man

We weren't going to write about Portugal. The Man today. Another band was on the schedule, but pretty much since their new album, Evil Friends, came out last Tuesday, we haven't been listening to much else. This is the band's seventh record (all solid stuff), but it’s their first with Danger Mouse producing. Though it probably goes without saying, Danger Mouse has a serious Midas Touch. To varying degrees, he has been responsible for The Grey Album, Gorillaz' Demon Days, Beck's Modern Guilt, and Broken Bells. OoooooKk. Evil Friends is no exception to that kind of quality. It’s a fantastic record that really doesn't have any tracks to skip over. Creep In A T-Shirt, Atomic Man, and Purple Yellow Red and Blue are particular standouts. We seriously recommend that you spend some time with this album and the rest of the band's catalogue.
