Red Fang is a rock band in the old school sense. They play heavy, guitar based jams; drink a lot of beer; and generally like fooling around. As evidence, check out their videos for Prehistoric Dog and Wires. Both great songs, but also hilarious video ideas and execution.
Whitey McConnaughy directed both videos and is pretty much the only person the band uses for video content, and its all pretty much great. Their most recent tour documentary (in three parts) is a particular favorite of ours (part 1, part 2, part 3).
As a band, their second album, Murder the Mountains, was a big step forward. 2009's eponymous debut album was great, but Murder the Mountains is a much more realized album where the craftsmanship of the songs takes center stage. Wires, Hank is Dead, and The Undertow are particular highlights. With their robust riffs, focus on melody, and growling vocals, Red Fang is going places.
