Well, it’s that time of the year again where all the big names in gaming descend upon the Los Angeles Convention Center and show off their latest and greatest. Are you one of the lucky few that get to attend E3 in person? If so, we’ll see you there…but if not, don’t worry, our team will make sure to keep you all up to date on the action that is going on every day.
Of course the big news is all about Next Generation consoles. PS4 and Xbox One will definitely be a highlight of the show, and we’re hoping to not only get some good hands on time with each console, but to learn more about the consoles themselves and the features that will make us all want to go out and spend our hard earned money on one! We’ll make sure to fill you in on what we learn so you don’t miss out on a thing! Who do you think will win the next gen battle and why? What do you think of Nintendo cutting back their presence drastically this year?
Let’s be real though, what it really comes down to is the games…
Action and adventure on your mind? Well, we’ll hope to be able to test out Assassin’s Creed IV, Infamous: Second Son, The Last of Us, and Watchdogs. It’s a shame that GTA V won’t be at E3 right?
Maybe shooters are your game of choice? If that’s the case, there is definitely no shortage of games to preview at the show: Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Destiny, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Splinter Cell Blacklist, Wolfenstein: The New Order. We’ll definitely be giving those a look and will let you know what we think!
The racing genre will also be making a strong showing, and you better believe we’ll be checking out the latest and greatest to help get our virtual fill for speed: DriveClub, Forza Motorsport 5, Gran Turismo 6, Need for Speed: Rivals.
Of course, you can’t forget one of the best genre’s out there…sports. We’ll definitely be trying out the latest from our favorite publishers: FIFA 14, Madden 25, NBA Live 14, NHL 14.
What are you most excited about? Any games you want us to check out that we didn’t mention above? What do you think of some of the new franchises vs. the tried and true franchises out there? You think The Last of Us will be able to create a solid following that can topple a true great like the Assassin’s Creed franchise? Will DriveClub be able to gain the popularity that Gran Turismo or Forza Motorsports has? Will Destiny give Halo a run for it’s money?
Make sure to comment and keep checking back for exclusive content and follow @Skullcandy for live updates June 11-13 from the event. We’ll also be announcing a special partnership that has to do with one of the big name titles we mentioned above, so stay tuned!
