Band Of The Week: The New Division

When you listen to The New Division's music you can figure out pretty quickly where their name comes from. As much as they might at times sound like an 80's melodrama band, their sound is on trend with music releases that blend into today’s indie-electro scene. The New Division is something akin to a lighter, less punk sounding version of Interpol or the Killers. Lead singer & producter John Kunkel's voice is pretty much what holds the songs together, which makes sense considering the band originally started as his own solo project that he worked on out of his dorm room. With the release of their EP Night Escape last year, the band is definitely on the come up in a big way. Check out their other work on their albums Shadows (2011) and The Rookie (2011).
