Skullcandy Presents: The Week In Music 5.10

Currently Obsessed With: Justice Access All Arenas

If you’ve seen Justice in concert then you can relish in the memory on their latest release, Access All Arenas. This compilation album of the bands best tracks provides the crisp and raw sound from their live shows in addition to the energy from the crowd.  Almost as good as seeing them live…almost.

Freshies: Fitz & The Tantrums More Than Just a Dream

Yeaaahhh!  Fitz & The Tantrums just dropped their second record; More Than Just a Dream is a rad retro-dance album.  Full of that neo-soul sound that makes lead singer, Michael Fitzpatrick’s voice so distinguishable you’ll find yourself singing along with the bands nostalgic anthem-like ballads whilst fist-pumping waiting for the beat to drop and the vocals to lift.  We recommend, “Out Of My League” and “Merry Go Round.”

Watch Out For: Pacific Air

Soon to release their debut album in June, the brother-duo is likely to hit it big in the indie-pop scene if they keep up with what they created on the EP Long Live KOKO. Expect synthesized beats, airy vocals, tambourines, unicorns, and all other things that make for a solid summer record.

Video of the Week: Daft Punk | Random Access Memories | The Collaborators: DJ Falcom

Episode 8 of a look behind the creation of Random Access Memories highlights Oscar-winning composer Paul Wiiliams. Check out how Paul talks about working with the Robots, and how they came together to identify the emotions of the record and create gorgeous melodies.
