It was a tight race at this past weekend’s Oakland SX event, but our boy Ryan Dungey managed to land on the podium by the end of the night. Dungey’s been hustlin’ this season and has been able to consistently stay near the front throughout his races. After a solid day of practicing Ryan earned 2nd in his heat and moved on to qualify for the main event.
He had a rough opening lap but pulled through the race, barely escaping the massive pile up of racers that went down shortly after the gate dropped. Ryan came up from a near last, to being in the top five at the halfway point while closing in on the top three riders. Fighting for a place at the podium Ryan passed Mike Alessi to place behind Villopoto and Millsaps. This is Ryan’s second podium of the season putting him 4th in points –well done son, well done.
