Proving that Skullcandy is always pushing the envelope when it comes to fashion, we teamed up with designer, Walter Baker, during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City to show off our newest creation, custom Edit Aviator headphones. The bright SS13 collection popped against the backdrop of an all black room, as 25 models paraded into place wearing Aviators with mixed caps, bands and frames in wild, new colors: royal blue, pink, khaki and chrome. The lone exception was a sparkling bedazzled pair of headphones customized by Baker's design team for this special event. Check out the W118 MBFashionWeek video!
Backstage was the usual melee of stylists and make-up artists, managers and publicists. But when the models entered the room, each serenely looked striking from headphone to toe. The frenzy started up again when sisters DJ team, Kissette, launched into a room-shattering mix, that was also piped into every pair of Edit Aviators through light-bright colored audio cables.
The party later moved to the Stone Rose Lounge, where fashion media, celebs and VIPs could get an up-close look at the Edit Aviators. With the new Edit online app, any- and everyone will be able to mix up colors for a unique, custom design. Even though the Walter Baker people hand-picked only a few, Edit actually gives you over a thousand color combinations. And we came prepared to show off as many as possible, outfitting bar staff, guests and our crew with pairs of mixed and matched Aviators.
To completely out-do ourselves, we invited Skullcandy supermodel, Chrissy Teigen, to help host the affair and take a few photos with party-goers. Nothing like a supermodel to make us look good—check the pics below. Plenty more from our photo booth have been uploaded to the Skullcandy Flickr page, too, as evidence that it was a raging good time. Thanks to Walter Baker and everyone who rocked out with us until the wee-hours.
