Did anyone really expect seven time Supercross champ Jeremy McGrath to change his ways? At 39 years old, he’s still got some great wins ahead of him with his new passion, off road truck racing. Of course, he jumped right into the Pro 2 class of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series – the biggest truck class in the dirt. That’s 900 hp of machine going over the type of burly bumps and hairpin turns you might see in a motocross course.
You’d believe that McGrath’s experience in Supercross would give him many “transferable skills.” But according to him more than a few things don’t transfer over; thankfully, “the racing part does.” Throw in some bumping and banging, and it’s just like a bike race except you’re losing parts along the way.
Says McGrath, “It’s the perfect grounds for a retired motocross guy.” And with all the jumping, crashing and mud flying, we expect McGrath will soon be crowned “The King” again.
