We’re proud to introduce the Skullcandy Skate team, with a revamped and much-anticipated roster that includes some of skateboarding’s biggest names. Joining current team rider, Theotis Beasley, are Eric Koston, one of the most influential skaters of this generation, Sean Malto, 2011 Street League Champion, and Steve Berra, industry icon and filmmaker.
By signing these four pros and inking a partnership with The Berrics, announced earlier this month, Skullcandy has a renewed focus on skateboarding. Now it’s full steam ahead with unique products and projects already in the works.

Skullcandy Announces Revamped Skate Team
(Park City, Utah – April 16, 2012) – Today, Skullcandy, Inc. unveils their revamped and much-anticipated skate team. The roster includes some of the skate industry’s biggest names. The list of new team riders is headlined by Eric Koston, who many consider to be one of the most influential skateboarders of this generation, the 2011 Street League Champion Sean Malto and Baker pro Theotis Beasley. The team is anchored by industry icon Steve Berra, who will be heavily involved with Skullcandy skateboarding creative projects, shorts films and content creation.
“Skateboarding is a major focus of our brand moving forward and we want to make sure our skate program was reflective of that,” said Nate Morley, VP of Marketing + Creative. “This team is a big step forward for us and represents what we set out to accomplish, to partner with industry icons and young superstars who love the Skullcandy brand.”
“I'm really psyched about my new relationship with Skullcandy. The direction they're going with innovative audio accessories is awesome and something I really want to work with them on. I look forward to a fun future ahead,” said Eric Koston.
Skullcandy, who has remained silent for months about the all-new skate team, has made multi-year commitments with each of the four pros. Deals include, but are not limited to, the development of signature product, video and photo shoots, signature events and exclusive content produced in part with the Berrics.com—another Skullcandy partnership also announced earlier this month.
“I’m excited to skate for Skullcandy,” said Sean Malto. “I love their products and I love where they’re taking the brand, especially with their focus on skateboarding. It’s a great thing to be part of. Plus, they’re really focused on unique projects that will live beyond skateboarding. We already have some cool stuff in the works.”
“Being on Skullcandy has been great for me. They’ve been really supportive of the stuff I want to do and always help get my name out there with the stuff they’re doing,” said Theotis Beasley of his continued relationship with Skullcandy.
Skullcandy has always been a big part of action sports, but has renewed its commitment to skateboarding. They feel that signing a team of this caliber is certainly a step in that direction. Look for more in the coming months from Skullcandy and the entire skate team.
