At the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association awards ceremony last night, Skullcandy took home the trophy for Accessory of the Year for the second year in a row. From 78 nominees chosen out of thousands of products, from hundreds of core surf industry brands, SIMA honored a product that embodies our pioneering spirit and has a very special place in our hearts: the Skullcandy FIX. When we think about the amount of research and development that went into the FIX's revolutionary design, and the accolades it has already received, it almost comes as no surprise that the industry would acknowledge our achievement; nevertheless, it's always an unexpected pleasure to receive recognition from outside, especially from an organization we hold in such high regard. Since we consider ourselves just as much an action sports lifestyle company as an audio accessory company, this award means even more to us than you can imagine. When you compound that feeling with the knowledge that we won SIMA Accessory of the Year in 2011 for the Roc Nation Aviator, it's understandable when we say we're on top of the world right now.
