If there's one thing that exemplifies the Skullcandy brand, it's a born rebel. The no-holds-barred, boldly-go-where-no-man-has-gone-before pioneering attitude is central to the Skullcandy philosophy, and we've tended to attract like-minded individuals along the way. That's why we are so stoked to welcome an FMX icon to the team: Robbie “Maddo” Maddison.
Maddo blew into global recognition like a category 5 hurricane in 2008, when he jumped 94 feet up onto the Arc de Triomphe replica in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve, then jumped off of it to a ramp 80 feet below. He'd already broken the world distance jumping record earlier that year, but it was Vegas (in true Vegas fashion) that put him in the spotlight for the world to see. Since then he's been doing more of the same: traveling around the globe, breaking records and scooping up the odd FMX trophy here and there, when his schedule allows.
That record-breaking spirit is what we like most about Maddo, especially when contrasted with his mellow, easy-going Aussie personality. We'd like to think we're something like that. Maybe it's why he likes us too. Or perhaps he just likes listening to his tunes through the sickest headphones the planet Earth has to offer. Either way, it's a match made in heaven. Welcome to the team, Maddo…we'll see you in San Diego for Red Bull No Limits.
