Dew Tour SLC Recap

It was a big weekend for Salt Lake City and the Skullcandy team. When DEW Tour takes over, downtown SLC becomes a sea of action sports fans and athletes. The heat radiating off the pavement cooks your brain while the crowds cheer like Romans at a coliseum, and the amount of Rockstar and Monster energy drink consumed could likely flood a small village. If only ginseng and taurine and ribosine could convert to electricity, we could reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.

But I digress.

The Skullcandy pro team slayed it this weekend across the board, representing hard in BMX, FMX and skate. Pierre Luc Gagnon was the big news, taking 1st in Skate Vert with a super-clean run that featured a kickflip body varial 540, a 720 McTwist and a switch frontside air 360. His top score of 94 blew Shaun White and Bucky Lasek out of the water; neither of the two runners-up broke 90 points. In his own words, it’s “been a minute” since his last win, and we are stoked for him.

Mike Mason took the all-new Hart & Huntington Speed and Style event by storm, placing first in both categories with a perfect 1-1 score. His teammate Beau Bamburg stayed on the podium with a 3rd-place finish.

Brandon Dosch ended up placing third in a huge, talented field of BMX competitors who went absolutely gonzo on the Dirt course. Big ups to him and honorable mention to Mike Clark, who rode to “Baby Got Back” and was just off the podium in fourth after his run but dropped down to eighth by the final bell.

All in all a sick DEW Tour stop for SKDY, right in our own backyard. Stay tuned for more updates!
