Maloof Money Cup DC 2011: Practice Makes Perfect

Today was practice day 2 of the 2011 Maloof Money Cup in Washington DC.  It was a very gloomy and very hot day on the course.  As tourists headed to all the sights of our nation’s capital, some of the world’s best street skaters headed to a parking lot just outside of RFK stadium to practice for Maloof, in what will soon be a permanent public skatepark in DC.  The guys from California Skateparks braved an earthquake, a hurricane, and immense heat to get the park done in time-which they did-and it looks amazing, but before it’s a public park it’s the course for the Maloof Money Cup this weekend.  Everyone that practiced today killed it.  Notables at today’s practice were: Manny Santiago destroying the rail with nollie flip feebles and kickflip Smith grinds as well as many other very hard manuevers. Ishod Wair killing everything,…..first try and casually-this kid rips, and most likely won’t be an am for long.  Vincent Alvarez just attacking everything on the course like his life was on the line while his new Chocolate teammate was going mach 3 all over the course flying all over the place, and Ryan Decenzo, good as he usually is with tech tricks like Smith grind fs flips out.   Can’t wait to see more this weekend.  Here’s a photo gallery of some of today’s highlights.  It’s gonna be a great weekend in DC!
