Huge congratulations go out to Skullcandy surfer Owen Wright for his runner-up placing in the Billabong Pro Tahiti. Owen didn’t have an easy path to the finals, taking out an international field of top competitors including Taylor Knox, Raoni Monteiro, Travis Logie, and Fred Patacchia along the way. At the end of the road, Owen’s final hurdle came in the form of 10X World Champion Kelly Slater, and he only missed winning by a point with some amazing action in the last minutes of the heat. This was Owen’s best result to date in only his second year on tour, and it moves Owen up to #5 in the world going into the Quiksilver Pro in New York.
