It would appear that there is no end to the amount of huge names to show up on Skullcandy Identity Fest. The latest announcement that Pretty Lights has joined the tour sent such a huge shock that natural disasters erupted on the East Coast (too soon?) The crowd was swarming the main stage with his first day kicking off in Tampa Bay, FLA. This is a literal statement, not a metaphor or simile or whichever of those big words that would apply. I mean, the crowd honestly rushed the stage. Security guards were toppled, fences were leapt, glowsticks and small animals were trampled in the mad dash that was the opening song of Pretty Lights set.
Part of the unrest may have been the wait between sets from Rusko who got the insanity started and the longer than normal break where they disassembled the normal LED background and set up an insane light show all his own featuring stacks and towers of LED stands. Indeed the lights were insanely pretty, but the music was gritty and hard and just what everyone wanted. The bass and beats pumped through heads, chest and feet of the thousands there leaving the crowd barely able to walk after, and yet they still stayed shouting for more until the lights finally faded out. If you’re sad you missed out you can still catch the amazingness on the remaining dates of the tour and get your tickets HERE. Photo’s by Monti Smith
