Lots of stuff in skating this summer. BATB 4 ended about a month and a half ago with Canada taking top honors. Morgan Smith beat PJ Ladd in a very intense game of SKATE at the BATB4 finals where the room was 115 degrees and you could hear the sweat hit the floor. Congrats Morgan Smith.
Speaking of the Berrics, if you want to skate the Berrics, you finally can. The first public Berrics opened last month in Westchester, Ca. where you can most likely run into the Berrics crew filming something there. Explore the Berrics in Westchester.
Skullcandy team rider Theotis Beasley has had quite the year, turning pro and coming straight out of his TWS video part, he’s back at it again with the whole Shake Junt crew filming for their upcoming video. It’s gonna be a good one with parts from Theotis himself, another Skull team rider Lizard King, Bryan Herman, Andrew Reynolds, Beagleoneism, Shane Heyl, Braydon Szafranski, Jeff Lenoce, Dustin Dollin, and the whole Shake Junt family. NOWISON! Theotis and the Bakerboys/Deathwish family are also on tour right now in the east coast dubbed the Lowlife tour. If you run into the boys skating their asses of, feel free to help them out with bottles of water, or other forms of liquids they’ll need to give you the best skateboarding they can give you.
Speaking of videos, the Girl/Chocolate family are working on their upcoming untitled video. If you know skateboarding, you know it’ll be a great video.
It’s been quite the year for young Raven Tershay…first getting on Chocolate, then winning the CPH pro bowl comp, to winning the Xgames superpark. Look forward to seeing his part in the upcoming Chocolate video, where we’ll also see how amazing he can skate street.
And in other Chocolate news, long time team rider Daniel Castillo just tied the knot with his long time girlfriend. Congrats Daniel!
More video news…Sierra Fellers and the whole Foundation team have also been working on their upcoming F video. Look forward to seeing Sierra and crew display some amazing street skating soon.
Torey Pudwill has had quite the year as well, where he won TWS street skater of the year, had a amazing Thrasher magazine video part, and running his own grip tape company Grizzley griptape that has been everywhere these days. Unfortunately, he had a ankle injury, that will put his skating on hiatus for just a short time, which puts him out of the Street League finals in New Jersey.
Nyjah Huston has had a great year as well, winning the past 3 Street League contests, winning X games street, getting back on the Element team, and cutting off the dreads. Will he win all 4 SLS contests….guess we’ll find out this upcoming weekend.
Cory Kennedy, with friends Zack Driscoll and Matt Rodriguez launched their new washer company Good not Great, where just recently they picked up their 2nd team rider Billy Marks. Look forward to seeing some more names added to the team list soon.
4star clothing just announced a new team rider, Ishod Wair….well deserved Ishod.
After putting out an amazing part in TWS Not Another Transworld Video, Shane Oneill joined the Monster team….and fellow Monster team rider Chris Cole launched his new clothing company Omit.
Some sad news, Es footwear just closed shop and has been put on “hiatus”. Es has been a staple in skateboarding, and has always been true to what real street skateboarding represents. Knowing Scuba Steve, it won’t be down for long.
