Warped Tour 2011 Starts Today

Put your metal/rock/hardcore/robot ears on, because the Vans Warped Tour is up and running straight for your face. From today until August 14th, the traveling Armageddon of noise will thunder from city to city, state to state in search of young minds eager for corruption, young eardrums pining for destruction. And yours truly is a sponsor, so when your parents ask what demonic power could possibly stand behind such a foul and awesome construct, you can tell them, “Duh, Mom. Skullcandy.”

Over 100 bands will be featured on 8 stages, including a Skullcandy stage that’s sure to be stocked to the brim with swag, as well as music from SK Familia members Yelawolf, Passafire, Ivy League, and more (see below for full lineup and dates).

We’re also running our Candy Girl Contest for the second year in a row, so ladies, don’t forget your teeth-whitening kits and winning smiles. You can check out last year’s submissions here: Skullcandy Candy Girl Quest 2010.

The Candy Girl winners from each stop will move into a final voting round, where the voting process will crown an overall winner. The top Candy Girl will receive star-status treatment from Skullcandy, including her own exclusive page on the Skullcandy US website, a modeling shoot with our in-house photographer, a Skullcandy TV hosting spot, and most importantly, a year’s supply of headphones plus a grip of other gear. Stay tuned for more news on that; the contest starts on July 1 so you have plenty of time to practice your duck face.
